SAAC Forum Discussion Area / Re: Shelby GT350 re-assembly

Smart move to reassemble after priming/fitting but before painting.  Makes sure you will do a stellar job on it.  Prime, fit, fix any issues, knock down to paint

I sense an underlying question, so:  No, they never used copper.

Wanted to Buy / Re: Short block for 1969 GT500
December 03, 2019, 12:39:53 PM
Well,it's a CJ block, so larger main webbing. Then a date code of 3 to 8 weeks before the Ford build date.
I found my CJ block on Ebay. Just beware of the cylinder diameter and rust.

Those new F150 commercial photos showing the pick-ups towing everything from farm implements to horses, to hay bales.  Whats next?  Trailers full of cow manure?  All shot from the trailer point of veiw.   Here is what WE want to see.
Post yours.  Lets see those drag cars, track cars, all heading to the show.

I'm at 48 years with 67/#0036 and closing in on 50.  Take your time, you'll get there.

Rukidding:  Love the 67 Galaxies, yours with a 428 is especially super.  If you live still in the Chicago area, I might have seen it at some show in the past 25 years.

Might be an issue with the early production versus the late production of the aluminum panels.  Seems the "other guys" stopped making the early type panel.  Boo-hoo for us folks who own the early cars,

Do you mean the real winner, or the one the Frechies say won?

This original windshield is .300 thick. So far, most of my polishing has made a huge difference. Some spots are harder to remove and I believe it is from hard water drying in the sun......
Lots of elbow grease and buffer time but I am going with the ORIGINAL glass!

I'm afraid that, after all your effort in preserving the original glass, is that you will find areas of optical blemishes.  Eventually it will drive you nuts.  You will wish you replaced the glass the first time.  Try looking out of the glass from the drivers seat and I'm sure you wll see what I mean.  Either way, good luck.

I agree with Don Johnson. A correct.statement.

Now,where can I buy a movie poster or two?

I don't think they are legal for the F.A.S.T. car events due to the 68
Part number in a 67 chassis. If that is what.you're planning.

Concours Talk / Re: Who makes the best car cover?

How about "Car Capsule".  It completely encloses the car inside a bubble.  No dust from nowhere.  OK, a little difficult taking your car in and out if you do this a lot.  I take down my antenna so I don't break it as the plastic is heavy.  4 years, I'm still happy with it.

Since its an A code car my curiosity stopped... :-[

Just so you know: Not many, very few 67 GT350's got the Ford Vin stamped with an "A" by mistake at the San Jose assembly palnt.

I think Nick would like to arrange some "meals on wheels" delivery instead.
