A potential buyer is not going to reach out to a knowledgeable "expert" if the buyer has no clue where to even go or how to contact that said expert.  The beauty part about BAT is, all the information and criticism is condensed in one area and that is in the comments section of BAT.  A potential buyer can take the comments with a grain of salt or use them to evaluate their decision on a purchase.  This only helps a buyer.  Granted some and most of the comments aren't worth anything, but those are the ones that can be taken with a grain of salt.

Let's just say Marty McIntosh is one not to be trusted.  He's made quite a name for himself by deceiving a lot of people in the Shelby community.  He goes by a few different aliases.  His claim to fame is to re-package used and reproduction parts, in original Ford boxes with the part numbers crossed out and advertise them as N.O.S.  You will definitely not get what you pay a lot of $$$ for.  He's definitely a con-man!!

It looks like Marty McIntosh aka Pookie is back at it on Facebook on some of the Shelby pages.  Just thought I'd forewarn some potential victims.  Buyer beware!!

The gentleman Stephen is referring to is Bill Jansa from TX, who sold the car in 2011 as a project.  It was a factory Paxton car, #2309.  He offered it me, but at the time I was not in a position to buy another car, which I wish I would've bit the bullet and made accommodations since I do have the twin to it, consecutive #2310.   The car was a project, but painted and needed assembly.  He did mention the engine was a replacement HiPo, but the transmission was original with the vin stamped in it.  Since then, the car went through a full restoration and I'm not sure who has it or where it ended up.  I thought Colin Comer may have purchased it and completed the restoration.

Maybe it's an early vs late thing or who knows, if Bob said some had them then some had them. The original cars I have seen did not have them but that a limited number of original cars in my wheelhouse. Trying to not go way off topic when this has been discussed in other threads....but it would be highly unusual to not have washers on an early 67. Ive never seen an early car which was reasonably "un-messed-with" which didnt have the washers.  Likewise (and I accept that this is controversial) but id consider it unusual to see washers on a mid production or later production 67. Every reasonably original, undisturbed mid and late production 67 ive ever had has lacked the washers.

That said, every car was "supposed" to get them. Clearly, many didn't. In fact, I'd say the majority likely didn't in 67. Adding the washers to a car that doesn't have them is sort of a "no harm no foul" sort of thing in my mind.

Hey Vern, interesting observation and point of view about the shock tower caps (beehives), which your statements seem very similar to what I was trying to convey in a past post about the shock caps.  At least I'm not the only Shelby enthusiast with these controversial thoughts!! 

Is there a scheduled date for when the car will debut on BAT?  Any pics you'd be willing to share to entice and tease us before the auction?   

The car will definitely be bid up by someone who knows what the car really is and knows what it takes to make a car of this caliber i.e. reproduction parts vs. nos parts, tasteful mods vs. assembly-line correct.  All it takes is 2 bidders that really want it!!

Yes, the overspray on the leading front edge of the intake is correct on a '67 GT500 428 engine.  Ford painted the assembled 428 engines with the aluminum intake already installed and used a mask to cover the intake so it wouldn't get painted.  The mask covered the intake, but not completely, causing overspray on the edge of intake 

For the small block cars, Ford shipped the GT350 cars to SA with a std 289 HiPo assembly with the painted cast iron intake, which the aluminum intakes and carbs were later swapped out at SA.
