This is a very nice original set of 1967 Shelby Mustang Shoulder Harness seat belts w/inertia reels.  The belts are completely original and have not been restored or re-webbed.  Both belts have their original "MFG. BY HAMILL FOR SHELBY AMERICAN" tags with a 47-66 date code (47th week of 1966) and they are in perfect condition.  The belts come with the original boots and are ready to install.  It is not easy to find original belts with the HAMILL tags still intact.

Asking -SOLD-

Feel free to contact me with any questions.  gchalk3@gmail.com

Thanks,

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: 67 PlazaGlas stickers

One thing to keep in mind is that the fiberglass was likely primed with batch paint so the gray-black scale may vary.  The over spray of the body color may give the primer a different tone in appearance.  From what I have seen, I would lean more toward a dark charcoal gray color (almost black) primer.

I would guess there were hoods and deck lids that made it out of PlazaGlas without any primer or decals at times.  Anything is possible.

I'm sure others have input on the actual primer color used.

No paint under the sticker or the entire hood as well?
On the all fiberglass hoods and deck lids, it is typical to see black paint/primer with the drift of body color overspray on the underside including body color overspray on the PlazaGlas decals. They were by no means painted for show purposes and were not made to look perfect.  SA painting techniques were by no means state of the art.  Their technique was to Spray a quick color on and send it out the door.

Here are a few pictures of my original Plaza Fiberglass stickers on my '67.

I'd love to know if there is black paint under those stickers or if they were taped off? ;)
The fiberglass hoods and trunk lids would have arrived to Shelby American with the black primer already applied with the PlazaGlas decals already applied as well, which means black primer is under the decals.  SA would not have taken the time to remove or tape the decals before painting the body color on the fiberglass components.  This is why it is typical to see an original car with body color overspray on the decals.

The intake that is currently on Ebay does show some signs of, what appears to be, "factory" blue over-spray and not the replicated version.

I just checked and without bead blasting everything off, I think it says "67"??

I'm not totally sure? Yes, mine is slightly pitted but that's an easy fix and will be covered by the hose in the same area. Boy, a NOS one, now THAT is hard to beat!! I'm pretty sure there supposed to be painted blue as they came from Ford like that and Shelby just added the intake and blue bolts for the intake as well?
The intake was installed at Ford. It was not added . It was assembled on the engine from the get go. You have to disassemble the entire top end of the engine to change the intake unlike the SB . The intake had a mask installed prior to painting of the engine to help keep paint off of the aluminum intake. The thermostat housing and the waterpump bypass were areas that didn't get covered with the mask so they got engine paint. I am not near my picture files so maybe JD or another can post a picture.
Here are some pics of 2 different restored '67 GT500's using the over-spray technique similar to what was done at the factory.  The pics show how the thermostat housing and surrounding items are supposed to be painted blue with the engine block.

If you purchased it through Ebay you should be able to make a claim against the seller and typically settle through Ebay.  Was the sellers name either "theroadcars" or "pookie"?

I believe this is an original '67 press photo.  I've seen it before and always thought it was a very cool pic.

The Lounge / Re: Paxton Supercharger Filter can
January 24, 2019, 11:46:22 AM
The correct Paxton air filter can for the early Shelbys is made of steel with an industrial chrome finish (not a high polish job at all).  The later version air filter can offered in the 80's was made of aluminum with a satin finish and this could easily be polished.  Both are about the same dimensions and very similar in appearance.  The early steel version is a lot harder to find.
