Yes the by pass hose clamps are different then the heater hose clamps. The same size slotted bolt head but smaller diameter thread. The width of the metal band is narrower as well. Apparently for some reason not yet known the bypass clamps installed at the engine plant were different compared to the heater hose clamps installed on the assemblyline. I will try and get some pictures of clamps I can put side by side for comparison later tonight.
Bob, would the narrower tower clamps also be used on the bypass hose on the '67 GT500 cars as well?

Since the cast iron intake was changed out for the COBRA intake after the motor was assembled and painted on the '67 GT350's, the water neck, bolts, bypass hose and clamps should all be painted blue.  The intake bolts should also be painted blue.

That is awesome you do that Jeff!  And thanks for your dedication to figuring these cars out and documenting all the details.

The seller got back to me and only gave the info off the carb tags, "the rear carb with choke C3AFBK A 7CD and the front carb no choke is C3AFBJ A 7CC".  He stated he did not want to give info off the carb air horns because he doesn't want to disturb the packaging.

I sent 2 emails to the seller, one yesterday and one today, asking the date code on the carbs...No response.  If the carb dates are later than what would have come on some of the last produced '67 GT500's, the carbs in the auction would be incorrect for a Thoroughbred or Concours restoration.  The carbs would have the value of an aftermarket over the counter replacement set of carbs, no where near what the seller is asking for them.  My guess is, the carb tags and dates are likely '68-'69 production (going by the photo of the 1969 dated newspaper) and not pictured for this reason.  It's still a cool nos piece, but as someone stated "as a nice display item".

I sent the seller an email requesting pics of the carb tags and air horns so I could see what the date codes are.  I'll update this post as soon as they respond.

Nice "GT40" intake George . SK numbers  noted.  Intake ports widened to match C6FE cylinder heads
Thanks.  There is also another SK # hand etched below the cast #, which is "SK 36851".

Being that a '67 GT350 may have been ordered by SA to receive a Paxton, but later cancelled, does not make the car a "Factory Installed Paxton" car.  To be considered a factory Paxton car, the car would need to have been invoiced to the dealer from SA with "Cobra Supercharger" itemized as one of the options.  There certainly are some variables.  The question is, how many '67 GT350's were invoiced from Shelby American to the selling dealer with the Paxton listed?

#2310 was invoiced to Tasca Ford Sales from Shelby American on 6-14-67 with the optional "Cobra Supercharger" for $479.00.

FPO or Factory Production Order was an internal W/O (work order) at Shelby American, and in this case, a list of GT350's were scheduled to have Paxton units installed before being shipped to a dealer.  It seems FPO's did change internally, for instance if a std. non-Paxton GT350 was needed to fill an order, a car scheduled for a Paxton may have been cancelled and shipped to fill the dealers order for a non-Paxton car.

The car is #2213 and unfortunately it never got its Paxton. The registry list it as a factory paxton car and so does the Marti Report. The 10 years that I knew about the car before I bought it I thought it was a factory Paxton car. The car was diverted to fill another order while it was waiting to have the Paxton installed. I found this information out the day before I bought the car, however the lack of a hole in the radiator support was raised many questions. The Marti Report list it as 1 of the 35 Paxton cars. I would like to know how many Cars actually had the Paxton installed. On a positive note the car did come with the complete Paxton supercharger setup in the box.
The fact that a Paxton set up was found in a box, in the garage, with a bunch of other extra aftermarket parts, does not mean the car was delivered NEW with the Paxton in a box.  No reason for the judges to try and figure it out.  The fact is, since the car does not have the proper Paxton modifications performed by Shelby American, means the car did not leave SA with a S/C from new.  There were a few '67 cars slated to receive Paxtons, but never did, which does not make them an original Paxton car.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: Brake Booster

The booster with the Fomoco script would be a replacement.  The assembly-line units did not have any script stamped into them.

Does anyone have pictures they'd be willing to post of the train wreck or of the Shelby's after the wreck showing the damage ?
