Looks like Bob Glidden used an old mustang radiator adapted to the record setting BOSS 9 Fairmont. He was my hero back in the day! RIP- :'(

Here is proof that drum brakes can stop a 200 mph race car.

More like a salesman... The gift of gab , slow hand luke , that AAH SHUCKS do you think that will work attitude. Women loved him, men were drawn to him. He wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed but one thing for sure he surrounded himself with the best there was, quick witted , sharp tongued, and endless ideas. Just what the automotive world needed at that time.

Yo Hommie like the size and thread or color n patina deal?

Like bolt type.  I have two bolts 9/16 head with built in washer, one is slightly longer than other.  Just wondering if those were right ones Home Slice.
That's O G gangsta fo sho.

I hate to admit it but that's the most fun you can get automotive wise for 60k period.

In the end its your decision on what to run , but from the top side it looks wrong because they didn't have thick flanges nor did they have welds from the outside edge. On the bottom side of the car the persnickety ones will look for the proverbial dent that only the original cars came with because they got this from unloading on the transporters.

1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / Tilt away steering column
November 09, 2019, 11:20:21 PM
I am interested in a tilt away steering column for a 68 and would like to know if there is an easily identifiable marking on the column, and or are they interchangeable with other years like late 60s or even early 70s? Thanks in advance

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: Nose/Hood fit
November 08, 2019, 09:27:12 AM
JD you are spot on. The question is what is your tolerance for crooked , poor fitting , sloppy workmanship of ANY part on your car. Many will go out of their way to make their cars kind of sloppy because that's the way they came. I see things differently from my side of the fence and would much prefer to have all my panels alignment and fitment to be much more appealing to the eye. My body guys spent many, many hours to get the fitment of my hood and deck lid parts to fit what would be todays standard, it puts a smile on my face when people see the car and say... man those pieces fit really nice on your car. Making a car better then they were is a no harm no foul in my book. Same with the paint , I was asked do you want fish eyes , orange peel , and some drips in your paint? I was perplexed when they said that and asked WTF would I want that for ? Because they were like that from the beginning... certainly not was my response, and very happy about not going back 50 years with the processes of the day.

Another TRUE way to tell if they are originals is to look on all 65-66 SHELBYS headers on the bottom of the collectors is the PROVERBIAL dent. While unloading the cars they all smashed the collectors in the same spot. ;)

I don't think it was Roger himself, but he has been on the board of directors for eons. :-\

With a set of gears, a good converter, decent tires and a FRESH 428 the OLDIE could rip off low 12s easily. I think their point was to say look how this new thing runs which anything with high 700 hp should run. Our in house drag race specialist Randy knows more about drag set ups than myself but if I had almost 800 horsepower on tap I feel confident I could build a beater to spank this new car at a way better price point then this new car. That's what I think is fun as opposed to plunking down a wheel barrow full of money at my local dealer and going racing... Everyone likes something different.  ;)

Sorry for your loss. A burning cigarette ash 6 inches from a funnel full of gas takes strict concentration. :-\
