Parts For Sale / Aluminum T-10M for an early ‘66
April 18, 2020, 12:50:37 AM
Selling an all aluminum Borg Warner T-10M for what I believe would be correct for an early '66 GT 350. I bought this transmission about a year and a half ago from another forum member for a car that I have since sold. It was purchased as rebuilt, just needs oil to run. I believe this to be the case, but please ask any questions so that I can help to verify that if needed. Hopefully the attached photos will show the necessary date codes. Priced at $10K USD, including shipping in wood crate anywhere in the US or Canada. Thank you, Malcolm.

Does it have the original air cleaner assemblies? Those are really tough to find.

I picked one up from Vern as well, very nice!

Looking to buy an original steering box tag for 6S074. Would like a 5F or 5G date code. Thanks to Ruben for helping to narrow down the correct dates.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: New 67 GT350 Owner Here

Congratulations! I think I know the feelings that you are experiencing very well. I purchased 6S074 this year after wanting and waiting to own my dream car, a Carryover, for a very long time. I went through a lot of cars, K-codes, rare Cougars, and another '66 to get there, but it was well worth it in the end. Yes, it's far from perfect, but I love it and it's a blast to drive. I'm sure yours is as well. Again, congratulations and enjoy your dream car.

A set of 5 restorable painted Magnums for 6S1291 would be my "dream part". I didn't realize that these would be so tough to find! Please send me a PM if you know of any for sale.

Thank you,

Malcolm

I just picked up a 2019 Bullitt, it's a great daily driver. Lots of fun to drive and a nice stablemate for 6S1291, which is also green.

Great work Dave, thank you!

I wanted to add that the original engine for 1291 has a 66.2 version.

Appeals / Re: 6S2328

Yes, I often wonder the same thing as well.

Apparently, according to the fellow that I bought the car from, 1291's original engine was removed at some point by David Grant to preserve it while he was driving the car. He replaced it with the engine that bears the Ford VIN on the block from 2328 that he had purchased at some point. He owned the car from 1988-2011 and was quite a collector of Shelbys and Ford parts. It seems believable to me anyway.

I would like to add some additional details to my original post.

I have, what I believe to be, the original engine from 6S2328. It is now installed in my car, 6S1291. The original engine from 1291 is on a stand in my garage. I have verified, through Mr. Pardee, that the Ford and Shelby VINs for for both cars correspond correctly to one another. Looking at the history of both cars in the latest registry makes the engine swap somewhat possible, geographically anyway, I believe. I am happy to just leave things as they are. The car is a nice driver, not a show car. However, if the current owner of 2328 is interested in reuniting the engine with the car, I would be willing to talk about it. I just thought that I should get this information out there in case someone on this forum had any knowledge or information regarding 2328's present owner or whereabouts. Some information that I received states that the car could now be in the Netherlands, but I haven't been able to gather anything further.

Thanks for your time guys, I hope that I have gone about this correctly. Please PM me if you have any information or other comments.

I recently acquired 6S1291. The car still retains its original California black plates, SRA 970.

There were 357 W-Code [427 Side Oiler] Cougars produced for the 1968 model year. 256 were XR-7's, 101 were standards. All are GT-E's except one which is actually an XR-7 upgraded with the 427-4V GT-E engine.
