1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Re: tire recomendation
March 02, 2019, 09:42:48 PM
i've posted about this before, but if cost is no object, the 215/70X14 Michelin XWX is the best tire on the market and fills the wheel wells perfectly . . .  if they're good enough for a Ferrari, they're good enough for a Shelby!

Parts For Sale / Re: Complete Paxton set up
February 23, 2019, 10:15:18 PM
can i ask why you're selling?  was the set-up not everything you hoped it would be?
i've always THOUGHT it would be cool to have a super-charger, but not many Shelby owners use them.
why?  maintenance and/or reliability issues?  inquiring minds want to know!
thanks,
alan

when installing this part, do new holes need to be drilled, or does it utilize existing nuts/bolts?

thanks.

The Lounge / Re: Forum oversight?
January 01, 2019, 09:57:50 PM
i know this was meant in jest.  i'm from California, and i don't take offense.  that said . . . .

for those of you who have Netflix, i urge you to put the Belgian film "GIRL" on your watch list.  it's not streaming yet, but it will be soon.  the movie is already 87% on Rotten Tomatoes and has been nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Foreign Film.

the movie tells the story of a 15-year-old transgender girl (i.e., a girl born into the body of a boy) with two goals in life:  to become a ballerina and to undergo the gender-confirmation surgery she needs to fully transition.  it's a highly sensitive film that makes us share the lead character's anguish, as she deals with struggles that very few of us can even imagine.

fortunately, most of us on this Forum will never have to deal with this issue directly.  while it's easy to joke about, the folks who suffer from gender dysphoria -- estimated to be more than 1% of the population -- are in real pain and suffer incredible discrimination and humiliation, through no fault of their own.

GIRL isn't a perfect film or a masterpiece, but it should be seen by people like us, who have no idea what these unfortunate people have to deal with.

thanks for reading . . . .
