Up For Auction / Re: '67 GT350 67200F4A01452 on BaT
August 06, 2021, 12:16:11 PM
I would like to bring up the question , as to when this car is not considered a true Survivor? It is obvious with the overspray that the rockers and door sills have , there has been some  repaint at some time in during its Life. Which would be the reason for the absence of stripes ? But if the car still retains over 70 % of its original paint , can it be called a survivor.
What if the major dents and the top were repaired and the underneath of the car was cleaned up and the headers were removed and the date code exhaust manifolds were out back on ? ( The comment that the headers were dealer installed , I am not sure can be proven? )  The car does have the Daytona stripes , were they installed by the dealer when sold? How often did that happen back in the day? Thanks Steve

Bigfoot , I don't disagree with you one bit. It still remains , it a lot of money ? I have passed on a couple cars that didn" t  have the Documentation. Which  would bring up another topic of how much documentation do you need ? I am not trying to be difficult , just want to find the right car that will hold its value. Too many Cons in the picture that want to make a buck on someone else's dime. I am sorry if I hurt anyone 's feelings on  that last comment. Just saying ? Thanks Steve

Bill, In response to the question of what I  am looking for is a 68 GT 500 or KR 500 Convertible. I have seen the prices range from $150 - $ 250. Which is my my price range for the right car. My disappointment comes when a car comes up on an auction and sells for $ 20 - $30 more than it should in my honest opinion. I currently own a 67 GT 500, Superformance,  B 9 and a couple Chevys. ( Don't hold the last few against me)
I would just like to clarify , are prices moving up because of the Pandemic or should they be flattening out . Keep in mind I think the B9 's have taken a hit in the past couple years IMHO. I am just looking for the right car with good documentation and needs some work. No trailer Queens this time around . Anyone have one for they would part with? Thanks Steve

I have been sitting back for the right car to come along for about 4 years now. As most of you I have had a few cross in front of me and think , there is a better car or deal out there? These prices have shot up since this Pandemic. When  does everyone think this will stop and things will level off ? Or will they ? Just looking for some opinions from the more experience people on the Forum. Thanks Steve

Ed, I am not sure what Mecums thinking was on the whole deal. I argued with and threatened to pull the car , because my thought be being that late and No Sale would not be good for the car. Anyway the car is back home and I appreciate all the help that you and Nate have given me.
        Thanks Steve

We may want to start another topic in regards to Mecum ? But I took my BOSS 9 to the auction this year in Indy. I discussed the position that I would want to be in , which was Saturday Afternoon on the May 22nd. They agreed and sent the paperwork work to sign. This was 2 months before the auction. The line up comes out out and I am 9th from the end on Saturday.
I call them and email them and say I am pulling my car from the auction. They say that there will be a fine and they are getting calls on my car and thier will be bidders there to bid on on my car. And of course there  contract has a penalty clause if you don't show. I reluctantly go to the auction and and it doesn't bring the reserve. They come and ask me if I will lower the reserve $ 75000 and I say hell NO . I got a minute of auction time while restomods got 3 to 4 minutes. They were ready to pack up leave at that point. No one cares snd I end up with a No Sale on my car.
There are to so many Mecum auctions and there is only the auction house getting rich. Just my 2 cents .

Thanks Steve

Wanted to Buy / Re: 69/70 Convertible Bolster Panel
January 21, 2021, 04:19:37 PM
Bob, I am looking for the side panels on each side of the back seat. They don't seem to make good repo's? Unless I am not looking in the right vendors, so originals would be nicer. Steve

Just when I tought you would get one for a reasonable price ? Then the Auction Mania kicks in?  Not a big supporter of the auctions.
