Thanks Dave, I am fine, what about you. You solved the problem, my car didn't come with the Bowditch Dealer Emblem. Now I am going to watch my 14-year-old grandson in Sweden placing ice hockey in Stockholm. Can watch in Swedish Hockey TV.
Again, thanks, Texas Swede

The Original Bowditch Dealer Emblem, did it have pins on the backside or was it glued on the back of 5S296.
Looked at old pictures of my car and there are no holes drilled. Bought the car in Feb.1988.
Thanks, Texas Swede

Wish I had one of the Bowditch Dealer Emblems for my car 5S275 which was sold by Bowditch Ford.

Yes, they were the winners. I tried to get in contact with the others without success.

Hi guys and thank you for your help as regards the pushrods for Roland's FE428.
I ordered them from Tony at Smith Brothers, and they arrived today. About a week total turnaround time.
Tony was a great guy to deal with and I can really recommend them if you need any pushrods including custom made as
these were.

Found two in my garage, one dated 113 (probably the one from my car) and the second dated 135 which would be too late for my car.

Thanks guys,
Need to check the master cylinder that was in my car (5S275) when I bought it in 1988. The one in my car now I bought in
Denver Colorado 1991. Both have the adapters.

SAAC Forum Discussion Area / Wire Harnesses in New Cars
« on: November 19, 2023, 09:47:10 AM »
A friend of mine in Plano, TX bought a new Japanese pickup truck 2 years ago. Two weeks ago, the car would not start.
It's parked on the curb outside his house. Rats had attacked the wire harnesses inside the engine compartment.
This is in suburbia and very nice neighborhood. He did some investigation and found out that cable insulation in most modern cars is made of a plant-based mixture including soy. All done in the name of saving the planet. Expensive lesson for him.

Hi Royce,
Thanks for your warning about the intake gaskets. I told Roland and he asked if you can recommend a better type.
Thanks,

Thanks everybody for your help. Roland added today that the length of the pushrod was made without preload on the lifter.
Yesterday, I called Comp Cams to speak with their technical advice department, but it was a very long waiting time so I decided to call next week instead.

Hi guys,
My friend Roland in Sweden is looking for specially made pushrods for his 428 FE that he is building.
This is the email from him. Can anybody help?

I have now tried to measure the length of the pushrods needed for my Ford FE 428.
It is equipped with hydraulic roller lifters and adjustable valve rockers.
The pushrods diameter should be min. 3/8" with min 0.08" walls.
The end at the lifter is:   5/16" ball.  OK
The end at the rocker is:  3/8" cup.
The length of the rods is 8.50"  (216 mm)
NOTE: The length is measured with a 5/16" cup against adjusting screw with 3/8" tip.
