1967 Shelby GT350/500 / 67 Shelby Shipping
July 06, 2020, 09:40:48 PM
Hi Guys,
The picture shows me at Terminal Island in L.A. packing some parts into the trunk before driving the car into a container for shipment to Sweden. This was the first week of June 1977 and I had just bought the car in Huntington Beach.
10 years later I moved to Texas but the car stayed in Sweden.
Was young and beautiful then, now I am only and.

Well,
The passenger side trunk floor cover needs to be cut for a 66 car after #252. It only covers the front part of the trunk floor
while the 65 covers it all the way to the back.

Do you have the original mounts? 6S923 was produced at San Jose 1/12/66 and has the standard mounts and not the HiPo ones.

Please note that the original early Konis  #1326 and 1327 are different from the later #1388 and 1389.
This means the mounting kits are different.

Here is the type I bought from Bob many years ago. As the car is in Sweden and we are normally over there in June
it never gets dark at night, these lamps do not make much of a difference.. Hope you don't mind me posting Bob.

I checked Julian Calendar on line and 113 as on my MC on #275 means April 23 which fits my car as it was produced at San Jose in the beginning of May 1965. The 342 on your car Martin means December.

Hi Martin,
The Master Brake Cylinder that was on my car #275 when I bought it in Feb. 1988 is dated 113 and it had the brass adapters.
In 1991 when I lived in Evergreen, CO. I found two NOS at a Ford place in Denver. $90 each and stupid enough I only bought
one of them. Part number was for Thunderbird (S) and it has the adapters. It's on the car now and is dated 158.
Part number on both is 2225032.

Get well soon Rick,
43 years ago you sent magazines, a Cobra post card and a Brochure from the US, and I sent
some Swedish magazines to you. We were young and beautiful then. now we are only and.

When I moved from Texas to Evergreen, CO (7000 elevation) in 1990 my 65 GT350 was running very rich so I took the car to
Walt Hane's shop for an adjustment. His son Chip used the Dyno and put a copper wire restriction in the power valve channel.
The car was running like it never had before, throttle response was like a 4-banger and after moving
back to Texas in 1993 I removed the copper wire and the car never ran as good as it did before.

Please note that the drawing shows 5S235 had the staggered battery hold down bracket holes
which means the car was equipped with the 65 Ford and 67-69 Mustang bracket.

April 13, 2020, 04:01:27 PM
Most of the bow on #1317 hood was removed by replacing the large springs on the car when I bought it
in 1977 to the small springs and by putting heavy Swedish phonebooks on each side.
