Thanks Bob,
So I need to paint my original valve black, It's dated 39-5.

Hi guys and Merry Christmas.
Did Ford at San Jose add the big rear brakes for the 65's  If so, did they also adjust the proportioning valve?
In the SA parts list for 65 the only proportioning valve mentioned is for the R-model.
Very confusing to me as there should be a separate part number for a GT350 street model or did Ford use the
R-model number S1MR-2091-A for both street and race models.

The pulley marked -C is for a 65 and requires a special fan and a washer.
Never seen one for a 67.

Every time I have experienced this on my 67, it has been the brake light switch,
Probably changed the switch 5 times over the 42 years of ownership.

To me it's more a philosophical question, what is a Shelby supposed to be:
A car when it left the Ford San Jose factory as basically all other HiPo 1965 FB's or
when it left the Shelby American factory. Personally, I think it's a waste of time and
money to do this but on the other hand a person can do whatever he likes with his own car.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: Hood and trunk black paint

When I bought #1317 in 1977 it's hood and trunk under sides looked like the pictures Jeff posted.
However, there was a metal mesh under the hood which I removed later.

Hi Martin,
I have seen both white and black painted port hole hoods. Don't know what criteria was used from SA.
Painted the hood on my car white during the restoration in the early 90's.

Fred is a great guy to do business with. Traded pumps with him to get the correct date code.

1965 GT350/R-Model / Re: Trunk mount battery

Please note that some cars used the large Ford C5 battery hold down clamp which was also used
in 67-69. My car #275, 262, 266, 277 and probably many others used this bracket.

The Auto-Lite side is located towards the tank. Please see picture of 5R104 after restoration.

This is a reversed post battery, i.e. Chevy type. As Bob said it's called PB11 (Prestolite). Howard told me many years ago
that they found an invoice for this type of battery and that his car 5S350 came with one even when his car had a front mounted
battery.

Here is a picture of an original battery for a 65 Shelby. Please remember that some of the cars had Cobra battery vent caps.

Sad news. I bought a lot of parts from him over the years, for example, a NOS 65 Shelby trunk mat.
