I always look at where the car was sold  and what part of the country it was driven in the first few years NE saltbelt vs SW sunbelt as that will tell u alot about what condition the undercarriage and suspension is in and how many miles were on the car and how the miles were put on the car tells u alot about how much of the car will need rebuilt or replaced especially  on a big block  unibody convertible as without the roof support (like a fastback) the convertibles start to sag in the middle from inner rocker rust and the door gaps can become a real problem as i seen some verts that u cant get the doors open and to fix a rusty convertible can be very expensive and if not fixed correctly can cause reassembly problems.

+1 to that, definitely see consistencies in how much rust in cars based on where they came from.  It's not just the car either, all the undercarriage components end up heavily pitted and very time consuming to restore... and they will never look as good as clean rust-free parts.

I'm looking for a program or an original participant listing for the 1969 NHRA nationals in Indianapolis.

Anyone have any info on what I should be searching for or might know a source to find the participant list?

I worked with Kee about 15 years ago to replicate details on an original 65-66 top for a K convertible I restored.  Sent them an original top, they took all the measurements and made an identical top.  I was told that they put the template in their system in case I ever needed another made.  Don't know if they have something similar to 69/70, might be worth giving them a call though.

Do they really need to be replaced?  If you're trying to keep the car original looking, NOS door sweepers/seals would be best.  The correct style fastback trunk seal is near impossible to find as NOS.

Like mentioned earlier in this thread, it's a slippery slope on how far to go here.  Parts that have deteriorated and no longer functional, makes sense to replace with either NOS or good used OEM parts.

I'm weighing my available options on window seal beltline sweeps felts replacement. There's a lot of terms used to describe these parts huh.
Also door and trunk rubbers and seals.
I've found Scott Drake, ACP, eClassics, Collectors auto supply, Steelerubber.
Have you guys used any of these and are they comparable to original quality and fit?

They can be found online or NPD has them.  It's a fairly simple kit, not much in them.

Last time I went through my 4300 the kit was easily available but not sure it is now. It was 20 bucks.

Still available, with updated ethanol compatible parts.

Don't know of any good rebuilders, but just did a C8ZF-D myself and it was fairly simple.  What exactly is leaking?

We need to get the word out about this show, it's an excellent venue, great time of year and the concours is SAAC-national sanctioned!  Great to have a 2nd option now to take a car to other than a national convention!
