After a lot of consideration and measuring of my 10' ceiling height, I decided on a Autostacker.  Two of them, actually.

It's a scissors type life, made by Bendpak.

Takes up less overall space, due to no posts.

I ordered the removable panel (a section of diamond plate) so I can work from underneath.

Very nice quality unit, operates smoothly.  Is designed to store a car for long periods of time.

I had it professionally installed, as it is heavy.

Have you considered flush mount jack-shaft garage openers?  Would remove all the stuff from the ceiling.

Yep...I agree.
It's not the first car off the line and it's not a hot performance optioned car. It certainly looks sharp in the Dark Blue / medium Blue interior but it's #0002.
A museum might want to have it as a conversational piece on display, but how many are really going to want it for so much more $$$ than another equally equipped car for a ton of cash less?

It should go in the Henry Ford museum and be parked next to 001.

The restoration is a bit aged/dated, though, ought to be brought up to current standards.  Looks like some repro parts were used.

Punch cards with car order images usually found their way to the dealers with paperwork that came with each car.  It's not something that would normally be turned over to new car buyers.

With any prototype/engineering car, when it comes to restoration, it's the owner's choice as to what point in time to put it back as.  This can be tricky as there may have been future mods that may have required such things as additional holes or modification of the body/parts.

Without choosing a point in time for the restoration, it just gets confusing and hard to explain.

Tonight I saw a 2007 GT500 with 113 miles sell for $41K + fees = $45K.  This is a 12 year old brand new car.  Do you suppose the selling owner is crying?  I expect they lost money (assuming they are the original purchaser).  Heck of a deal for the buyer.  IIRC, when these early late model brand new GT500's were sold new, they came with a hefty dealer markup.   Was it $60 to $70 for one of these cars back then?  Crazy.  Drive'm and enjoy them.

Probably needed to hold onto it longer.  I'm sure the seller, if the original owner, took a big loss... not even factoring in inflation.

I'm sure the pressure they ran had a lot to do with it, hence the move to LP guns. Was the undercarriage sprayed first with the reddish-brown primer, before the body color?

All primer sprayed before body color.

Both types of t-stat housings (recessed/non-recessed) were die-cast, not iron.

What color green originally?
Brit racing?

There's an AC invoice document in the auction pics that shows 'Vineyard Green'

Original dual quad linkage parts for 289 Cobra.  Cleaned and re-plated (except the one piece with the locking nut).  Only parts shown in pics are included.  The thick metal bar may or may not be used with dual quads, but was with the set.  $1200 for all pieces, extremely rare.

Cool to see the 2152 story from Al.  I've owned it for over 2 years now, it's being updated/refreshed and will be even better than it was before!  Will provide pics when it's finished, which should be very soon.

Use google translate to translate the site to engish:

https://translate.google.com/

Put the link in the left box, choose translate from French.  On the right, choose English, then click the link in the right box.

FYI...
The picture of the tag on the site is not a real tag with the '5S' in black before the number.

Any idea when registration will open up?  Will there be an indoor area for concours/t-bred cars?

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Re: Under Dash Wires?
December 28, 2018, 11:54:48 AM
Factory A/C was a yellow fused jumper wire off the back of the ignition switch and a black compressor switch lead from the under-dash unit.
