With money comes privilege ;)... The Jacksons of the world can buy what ever they want where the average Joe cant. So to get to the point in the racing world they have safety seals, etched bolts and pieces, and break away bolts if tampered with we know. Possibly a chemical process can be used like looking under a black light would show up as being tampered with. You could put an invisible Dot on the cars parts running for these awards only to be seen by a certain process this way it wouldn't piss of the owner by marking up his show car. There are only so many cars in the world running for these awards so we could see who was mixing and matching parts. Craig Jacksons could be green,,,,, ;) While Joe Schmoes car could be red and OOOOH DAMN would you look at that the red wheels don't belong to the green car OOOPS ;)

There may have been time constraints with the '65 Jackson car that had borrowed parts.  I know John was under a very narrow timeline to complete it.  As I understand, the judging sheets from MCA/SAAC will be used to improve the car and show it again this year.

I was also thinking if they were copper, they probably had a zinc coating.

I have a good friend here that has access to scanning and printing equipment, but know that there is much hesitation to shipping an original battery.

Darren: You're just going to have to start looking for 67's with original spare tires for sale and snag for your car!   ;) ;) ;)  You just have to remember to re-sell the cars instead of keeping them  :D ;D

We can 3D scan/print a 24F battery if anyone would let their original be scanned.

Concours Talk / Re: Vent Window Rubber 65-68
February 12, 2018, 10:53:26 AM
Vent window seals are different between 65-66 and 67-68.  65-66 is 2 pieces, 67-68 is 1 piece.

I also recommend NOS.

Other than the resister, what is difference between the 64 , 65 and 66?

Only other major difference is side or top open door.

SAAC Forum Requests / Re: Suggestions

This is a two part task. The users have to be made aware of the policy and know that it will be enforced. As well, a thread (or series of threads, one for each major model) needs to be created where users can advise the mods of duplicate threads and offer up suggestions as to placement.
"Will the mods please combine threads 'Coil colors' (postid xxxxx) with 'What spray paint can I use to paint my coil?' (post xxxx1)?"

On the enforcement end, I'm good with helping out. One shouldn't complain unless one wishes to be part of the solution.

On concoursmustang.com, Jeff does most of the moving/sorting and will leave a link where the original topic was posted.  This is done to make finding previously posted topics easier.  It's too much to ask for someone to go back and search for something like 'coil colors' and then combine all previous posts into one.  It would be an all day job to keep it to that level.

I'm not aware of much of that having happened here in the past, mostly just moving for sale or wanted items to the correct sub-forum.

Marti Autoworks should have the belt.  It routes around the water pump and crank pulleys.

The Lounge / Re: '65 Ford VIN Not Shelby related
January 28, 2018, 10:36:11 PM
The beginning of fastback production coincided with the normal '65' production year  roll-out.  This was also when Ford changed the electrical systems from generator charging to alternator.  This was just 1 of among many minor and major differences between 64.5 and 65 cars.  The switch-over was significant enough that Ford re-sequenced the unit numbers, with Dearborn starting '65 production at 250001 and San Jose at 125001.  We know the K code fastback noted above is the earliest '65 alternator car VIN at San Jose.  As to whether or not it was made first, anybody's guess, but probably not.

So, answering the question, the earliest unit number a fastback could have been for Dearborn would have been either 250001 or later and as mentioned 125001 at San Jose.  Metuchen didn't start production until Feb '65.

I have a excellent used one. The face you see is show quality in case you are not lucky enough to find a NOS one. I can't remember the last time (years) I saw a NOS C6 sender.PM me if interested.

I've only ever seen a couple of those NOS.  A nice used original would be fine, even for the highest level restored car.
