Ford GT / Ford GT compared to 2020 Corvette
August 14, 2019, 10:30:07 PM
See any similarities here besides colour?  Square steering wheel, mid-engined, body lines.  Even the "C" pillar man oh man!  Only thing missing on the Vette are the flying buttresses.  I wonder where the Vette got its inspiration??  Hmmmmm.

Came up for the time trials and saw Chip Gannassi hanging out at the Ford booth. It's raining now like an sob. Debating whether to stay the night for tomorrow's race. Last year of factory backed racing for the Ford GT. At Siebkens now in the pub. What a great area!

Looks good,  Racing and dog as a narrator.  Wish I had've thought of it myself.

Thought provoking to say the least.

Very dangerous in the wrong hands which is usually where technology can end up.  I think we are a long ways away from the interface of which this lecturer speaks however but his observations have merit.

The Lounge / Rearview mirror dimming button
July 06, 2019, 09:37:12 PM
This question has less to do with old school mirrors than modern mirrors though my first encounter with using a rearview mirror was in my 69 Mustang coupe.
For the night time dimming button do you push forward or pull toward you? Mine is kept in a state of pulled toward me during daytime and I push forward to dim night lights. Since I had my first car I have been ritualistic about that but later realized it worked both ways. In my Towncar it's automatic so that doesn't count.
Just curious.

In retrospect it's rather a trivial and ridiculous question. But I'm still curious.

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / The red one on the move

Leaving the firm on a lazy Friday afternoon.  Looks like Imgur images doesn't have sound.

There's like a quarter inch clearance from the top the front wheel to the bottom of the lip of the front fender  Just clears enough without rubbing.  I got lucky,

The Lounge / Speeding ticket in Ontario
June 12, 2019, 02:59:06 PM
Got nailed by the O.P.P. (Ontario Provincial Police) on Sunday doing 111 kmph in an 80 kmph zone. Anyone know if Ontario has reciprocity with Illinois? Haven't found any answers on point. I may just pay it and hope for the best. There is no supervision option in Ontario. Either plead guilty and pay. Or second, plead guilty and ask court for reduction of fine in person. Or three, plead not guilty and have a trial. I'm just looking to avoid an insurance rate adjustment.

The Lounge / I just lost my best friend yesterday
June 07, 2019, 10:49:28 AM
Daniel Trcka. Friend. Car enthusiast. Graphic artist of excellence. Taken by gastric cancer within a three week warning. Unbelievable. The oddest thing was an email I sent him on May 9th asking if he was alright because I had a horrid dream about him. So bad that it prompted that email to him. I am not religious and barely superstitious but he felt stomach pains the next day May 10 and got diagnosed on May 13th. They said it got to his liver and abdomen. They said it was extremely aggressive and initially gave him three weeks to live but after more testing, they recanted and told him they will do chemo. His first treatment was supposed to be on this last Wednesday but he went to emergency that morning and was on life support by Wednesday night. Gone yesterday at noon hour. 56 years old.
As an addendum, he owned a replica Ferrari Daytona Spyder but never drove it. My best most recent memory was in Toronto last summer driving the 401 at sundown in my father's 2013 Boss 302 Laguna Seca.
May be be drinking with the Gods in Valhalla.

The Lounge / Notre Dame Cathedral
April 28, 2019, 08:57:00 PM
Hello Gentlemen:

I just finished writing a recording a piece I wrote in dedication to the Notre Dame Cathedral fire.  Thought I would preview it here for the first time.  Feel free to have a listen at your leisure.  Writing music is so much more satisfying than practicing law.  But we all have to make a living, right?  Written and performed on my Steinway B Crown Jewel.

Best wishes to the people of France and Europe.
