I bought a Lane 1:24 Red/Gold Hertz. I'd like to have found 843 out of 1000. I also found a little red gold Johnny Lightning 1 of 5000.
That would have been a tough one to get the exact number of 843 but it may be out there somewhere on a shelf.

Hi Deathsled,

Will you pull the quarter window covers and add side scoops?

Cory
Just keeping the model as is. It is a close resemblance to my Hertz. I may put an R Model balance on mine some day. Perhaps...

I may consider an R model apron at some point.  Incidentally, I just reported the information on 843 to the Registry and tried to be as accurate as possible.  No Le Mans stripes originally and so on from what I recall of when you stripped down the paint finding none on the original red underneath a repaint.  I forgot to mention the mico piggy back brake booster  damned!  Just remembered now.  It sits in my closet along with the original 289.
The invoice also shows no LeMans stripes. I did find a piece of the gold tape on the back side on the door. The second paint job was genuine candy apple red. Translucent red paint over a silver basecoat. I think the master cylinder was listed on the invoice. The car still had it's original rear brake shoes.
I kept the automatic transmission that came with 843 but I think the original C is long gone.  It has an A on the plate.  But I'm okay with my Ford toploader with Richmond gears that came out of Klutt's racing Hertz.

I'm excited to see it regardless.  And there is no such thing as toxic masculinity.  I reject such notions out of hand.  I refuse to live in such a world and substitute said world with my own.  Movies pay for social justice agendas.  It killed Star Wars in the last couple of films.  I'll use my manosphere filter to weed out the social justice crap in the Shelby film and just enjoy it for what it is.  Hopefully...

Lol!  I married the European method.  THREE TIMES!  And believe me, third time was not a charm.  I had fun however,   "Hearing the lamentation of their women."

I'll do my best to help him find a good lawyer.  I'll see if I know anyone. Lol!  Mind you,I did defeat a motion for summary judgment last week on a slip and fall case 12 inches from a downspout that created an unnatural accumulation of ice that fanned out like a baseball diamond.  How the defense thought that there was no genuine issue of a material fact is beyond me.  But then again they bill by the hour and the insurance company was the one that paid for it.  Okay, sorry for the diversion.  Back on to that Shelby!  I would analogize to soldiers who come home from war missing a limb and have an orthopedic replacement.  They are no less the man than when they left for war.  They are that same man.  Ergo, a Shelby that was brought back to original is the same Shelby despite changes made over the years.  The soul is the same.  Buy what appeals to your inner voice.

Shock towers removed is in direct contrast to the claims made by the seller. Thats not my opinion, that is a fact

No, it is not a fact at all. Hearsay gets a lot of people in allot of trouble...........

Hearsay: An out of court statement offered to prove the truth of the matter for which it asserts.  Inadmissible! With several exceptions such as 1. Admission by a party opponent; 2. declaration against interest; 3. excited utterance and so on.  Any time a witness says "He said" or "She said" you must object.  That rule was drilled into me in 1987.  Ah yes, the three year reign of terror that was law school...

It is rewarding though as items get fixed or replaced as it is one less thing to worry about.  There are a finite number of parts on a car.  It has to end somewhere.  There are a hell of a lot of parts mind you...roll forth like a Tiger tank I say.

I will post the diorama of course.   I am car 843.  The model is car 564 I believe.  It was originally a black and gold car from what I can tell in the Registry.

Caveat emptor (/ˈɛmptɔːr/; from caveat, "may he beware", a subjunctive form of cavēre, "to beware" + ēmptor, "buyer") is Latin for "Let the buyer beware".[1] Generally, caveat emptor is the contract law principle that controls the sale of real property after the date of closing, but may also apply to sales of other goods. The phrase caveat emptor and its use as a disclaimer of warranties arise from the fact that buyers typically have less information about the good or service they are purchasing, while the seller has more information. The quality of this situation is known as 'information asymmetry'. Defects in the good or service may be hidden from the buyer, and only known to the seller.

A common way that information asymmetry between seller and buyer has been addressed is through a legally binding warranty, such as a guarantee of satisfaction. But without such a safeguard in place the ancient rule applies, and the buyer should beware.

I could not resist. My plan will be to create a desert diorama of black asphalt and sand to mimic my painting I had done by Ruben Duran...

Well that's a wrap.  Third place.  Don't know why I get so invested in these races.  I don't even own a Ford GT.  But I still want it to win.

The IMSA/Weathertech website is showing the result 4th in class, 13th OA for the no67 Briscoe, Dixon, Westbrook Ford GT.

Other sites (sportingnews & racingnews) show 3rd class / 12th OA.

There is some confusion with one of the Porsche's No912 getting flip flopped around with the No67 Ford GT.
I didn't watch the podium awards, so did the Ford crew make it up there for third in class?

Unclear if they were up on the podium.  I watched through in car camera of 66 Ford GT with the imsa radio blasting in the background.  I tuned out after they called the race on a red flag.  Ford will be back to kick all forms of ass don't worry.  LeMans anyone?
