1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: Front bumper attachment

Thanks all.  They're in NPD as well.  Thanks JD for you're input, you just didn't read the question,  "corner" was the trick word.  I have all the big ones.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Front bumper attachment
March 01, 2023, 12:53:30 PM
Do all 67's have front bumper attached to front fender with small bracket and hardware on each corner?  With extention of nose and bumper brackets seems unlikely.  My bumper and fender has holes but no bracket or hardware when purchased in  81.  Car had been partially disassembled for repairs previously so anything is possible.
If answer is positive if anyone has  extra brackets please contact me pm  or email.
Thks PL.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Brake pedal stainless disc
November 16, 2022, 08:13:15 PM
I have 2 brake pad stainless discs. one has black painted letters and second has no paint and doesn't appear to ever have had paint. Both appear to have been installed at some time.  Which is correct for 67 brake pad on s/n 19xx with A/T?

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Gas Cap latch spring installation
September 11, 2022, 01:53:36 PM
Howdy all,
Anyone have a "trick of the trade" method of installing the pesky spring for gas cap latch, even a closeup pic of correct end result will help. The way I had it loop was over the lip.

Thanks, just ask the military wounded if they enjoyed the helicopter ride to the field hospital.  They provide a lot of necessary uses that can only be done them.  When your Shelby leaves the road and rolls up into a ball, the helicopter ride with the EMTs to medical help will seem heavenly

Can anyone of the rotor heads in the forum identify what appears to be Hiller12E copter in the background of answer #219 pic?

GT-350 s/n 1935, SJ build 4/67,SA build 6/67.  Which of the hood latches would it most likely have been installed, long or short?  Hood all glass, no louvers.

I have all those manuals.  Pg 15 of Chassis Assy Manual view W shows what I assume is lh side shows the shackles with bolts solid so the assy ends up with nuts on inside.  Rt shackle ends up with the nuts one on each side as the bolts are (welded?) one to each end of shackle.  My illustration description is the victum of Osbornes' aging pictures.  Is this correctly interpreted?  The so called "special" one has both bolts welded and goes in from lh driver outside to driver inside.

I believe there was some discussion about direction lh and rh shackles and their fitment difference side to side and potential for exhaust interference.  Searched but nothing turned up.  Any hints??

Concours Talk / Re: Stuck distributor Ideas please
September 13, 2021, 08:43:22 PM
I believe this is a perfect example of "dissimilar metals corrosion" and could have been minimized with the careful use of one of the many corrosion preventative compounds on the distributor contact flange and o-ring upon installation or regular maintenance.  It's amazing what a bit of preventative maintenance can do.

Congrats on your purchase.  FYI, it may be optics but it appears the upper rad hose very close or rubbing on blower pulley. Bearing mind engine tq also a factor.  Enjoy.

Just noticed an error in reply #5.  Shud be SA not SJ, Shelby America vs San Jose.  Off subject Dave M but do you have any data that would indicate 1935 left SA with a louvered hood vs plain.  It has plain now but I've seen  a couple of close s/ns that have louvers. I believe A/C was a factor in decision which was installed. It did get a hit lh front early in life so cud have been replaced because I do have a 68 hood latch. ??
