Who will they get to play Phil Remington? He will be in the movie won't he?

In addition to casting, I wonder how the racing scenes will be portrayed. Will the Ken Miles actor be behind the wheel in the race sequences? Will they even use real Ford GTs or replicas? Will they even film the three car finish at LeMans? Or will it all be cgi images?

And be prepared for composite characters and dramatic scenes that never occurred. 

Does Matt Damon even know who Carroll Shelby was?

Ford Motor Company is no longer the car company I knew. I don't see Mercedes Benz/Toyota/Honda/GM dropping their sedans.

The Fusion V6 Sport with 2.7L EcoBoost and AWD is a performance option that Ford seems not overly interested in promoting. Ford of Europe has a killer looking Mondeo wagaon (yes, station wagons aren't a big seller here but I remain a hard core fan) that could be a low-buck rival to MB and BMW wagons with the right options and tuning.

Ford North America also seems intent in ignoring the Focus ST/RS hatches that are gaining traction with millennials.

As for the Lincoln Motor Company, the Continental is dull. Ads for it highlight 26-way adjustable seats. Funny MB and BMW don't highlight such features. As the the MK Z, T, Q(?), F(?) or what ever the model line up consists of, there's nothing that stands out, which is deadly in the car business.

Remember when Ford advertising asked, "Have you driven a Ford. . .Lately?" A car that, ". . .makes the road come alive. . .put your foot down. . ." Ford has lost, or chooses to ignore, that spirit.

Why would Jay drive a high dollar car that wasn't running correctly and why would he allow a show with his name on it be broadcast, let alone videoed to begin with?

I didn't like the Series 1 when it was first "produced" and I like this revival even less. Some interesting engineering but it had a lame-o 4.0L Olds Aurora V8 which still sucked when they supercharged it.

As I recall, Brock Yates described it as work in progress.

Re: DC3 aircraft

Has there ever been any investigation on Shelby's DC3 company plane? How long was it used? Was it replaced by another corporate aircraft? Is it still around? What is the ID number? Unlike cars, aircraft ID numbers are closely tracked.

Remain curious as to who originated the ad tag line, The Road Cars. SA, ad agency, some magazine guy?  IMHO it's a memorable one.

They had dyno graphs in the loose leaf Shelby American Parts and Accessories catalog which came originally in a folder. Pages were then inserted in the parts catalog rack. One side had engine description and graph. On the back page was complete specifications.

50. 1990 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1: A DOHC, 32-valve, 5.7-liter all-aluminum V8 was exotic stuff in 1990. And 375 hp was awesome. The first Corvette to really take on and outrun Europe's best.

How about the C4 Corvette equipped with  Chevrolet's RPO B2K Callaway twin turbo option? And that was available in 1987.
Or how about Callaway's 250mph Corvette SledgeHammer powered by a Lingenfelter twin turbo small block.

Driverless cars will end automobiles as we know them. They'll become horizontal elevators.

Plus why would a person buy a driverless Ford over a Chevy or a Dodge or Toyota? Because the WiFi is better?

The ultimate question will be why will anyone spend high five to six figures just to ride in a self-driving Shelby GT500 or Ford GT.

I'm not holding my breath for this Hollywood bio/race pic.

Most if not all the people to work on the film won't have a clue about the cars involved. Just start with the write up in Variety, ". . .with the mission of building from scratch an entirely new automobile with the potential to finally defeat the perennially dominant Ferrari." Entirely new automobile?  Are they going to mention Eric Broadley's Lola GT?  Will they mention the GT MkIIs prepared by Holman Moody in the 1966 race?

As for the dramatis personae, will Henry Ford II be portrayed as the evil, polluting industrialist who wants to crush Ferrari's little firm? Will Donald Frey be mentioned and portrayed as a Ford lackey?

What about Ken Miles? Will his character be a "composite" with maybe a girl friend inferred to increase the narrative drive?
And I can't even imagine how Carroll Shelby will come across, although there's plenty of material to work with.

And will it be CGI'ed to death, with maybe an extra pit stop thrown in to build tension?

Until someone who knows this story gives a review, I'll wait.
