5C3 hipo heads only SOLD

The standard hipo shortblock continues to be for sale. The complete 7H hipo heads are still available as well.

This hipo engine was pulled from a 64 Mercury Comet in 2017 in favor of building a 427 FE AFX type clone. The hipo was said to have been sent by Ford to a facility in Ohio for some type of research. I can say that the pan that was on the engine when it was discovered had a temp probe epoxied into the side of the stock pan?? When the research exercise was finalized Ford never called the engines back. It was said there was 3 or 4 that sat on pallets in a temp controlled warehouse for several years. The comet owner who also resided in Ohio was able to buy one of the engines. He claims to have put about 2500 miles on the Comet with this engine. I have listened to the engine run. NO smoke. The inside of the engine is spotless and with the standard bore and stock Ford pistons it sure reflects the claimed mileage. Not sure if any of the story is correct but I'm telling the story as it came to me so don't shoot the messenger!

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Re: glass date code
March 31, 2018, 10:54:14 AM
Les,  I would be interested in knowing what the letter in the circle just above the date code reads, I have tried enlarging. Mine is a N for Nashville. I have only seen the M05 on two 66 Shelby's and was wondering if it is SJ related only? The other FM codes don't seem to relate to any certain assy plant. My research tells me that the middle character is a zero and not an "O". Mike at PS Glass was going to check with Bob Perkins to see what he knew about FM-M05.

Les or anybody know what the FM-M05 indicates. I know it is a Ford Motor number but can't find much about it and I've now seen it on your shelby and mine

6s554-Nov 65- has original bag and it is gold Ford script. Cap is flip up. Beautiful condition but faded. Wish I could re-stamp it. That would be one damn big stamp with a handle the size of a plunger!

Door glass is clear. It is my understanding that all fastbacks got tinted glass and a standard mustang could option tinted all around or there was a front glass only ck off too. Though this would be an exception to what SA specified for their cars it seems reasonable that some (100 in 20,000 maybe) tinted front windshields got on the assy line. Ford was not in the business of giving away upgrades nor was Shelby looking to buy any non performance extras. In Fords case, time was money and since no one would complain or even probably notice, Fords quality control efforts went elsewhere and the line kept moving. I think the front tinted add was only like $10 retail. Since it matches the other date coded glass I think i will replace it with tinted. If it wasn't scratched I would leave it alone. But to imply my car could not have come off the assy line with a tinted glass is to say no mistakes were made at FoMoCo.

My original glass has several scratches and looks like maybe a PO tried to scrape the glass with a car key in lieu of a  ice scraper. I know that tinted glass has been disputed on a 65 66 Shelby. My date code is 5K as is 4 of the other 6 pieces. My car was built 5L. My question is how do I document my original glass as tinted, dated etc if I  choose to replace.

Thanks Ray
