Not impressed.  Reminds me of the person with a cobra kit car that attends all the local shows.  Has a large professionally printed placard on an art easel detailing every attribute about the vehicle.  No one ever breaks stride to stop and look.

+1 - where will this be a force on the track? I guess you could enter it in the prototype class at LeMans. With only 10 slated for build it won't be a production car anywhere. No vintage group will let it run. Garage queen or track day toy only. Somebody with 1.2 in it will want to drive it to cars & coffee - and promptly crash it on exiting.

Which marketing guru signed off on this?

If it's about weight why not carbon wheels & suspension bits? Getting that unsprung weight down is where it's at.

There is nothing Cobra about it - it's just another licensing scheme car where SA puts some money in their pocket to keep the lights on. But it will have a CS signature on the dash so I guess it's real.

officially licensed Shelby Cobra, dubbed the "Diamond Edition" in honor of Shelby's 60th anniversary, will be a force to be reckoned with on the race track. Granted a unique CSX____ series license by Shelby Licensing, each will feature a specially designed custom diamond encrusted badge and feature Carroll Shelby's signature on the dashboard.

WHO?????? This innovation meets performance with a custom designed, geometrically correct chassis and suspension designed by Jason Engel, founder and Vice President of Design and Engineering of Classic Recreations.

I guess they are going for the old fat hedge fund guys...... The iconic Cobra not only has been infused with modern engineering but was reimagined to include updated technology and more comfort, like an extended cabin for extra legroom to further enhance the driver experience.

Good for you!  Now can you get it back in?   ;D  Them cast iron gear boxes get heavier every year.
There was a guy in my high school group of friends we all used as our trans jack.

LAPD needs a more accurate scale..... ::)
Or to follow the advice of the fire department to just soak the stuff to make it inert. This was a turf war that did not end well.

Didn't waste my time watching the National Felon League. I figured the loser LA Lambs won when I heard all the idiots setting off their fireworks. It always sounds like a war zone when an LA team wins something but about zero noise on the 4th. Oh well I guess that's because most of the LA population isn't American and has their own independence date for when they crossed the border.
.   Actually they set off a ton o fireworks in L.A. on the 4th and (more annoyingly)the week leading up to the 4th,at least in the  Pasadena area.Thank God for double pane windows...
;)

Yeah a ton on the 4th but 2-3 tons for sports teams. Even LAPD shoots off fireworks for the 4th but they generally break their truck doing it.

In a quick Google search, a bunch come up for sale between $1500 and $2600.

Robin Miller the auto journalist passed August of '21.

Is there something special about this particular unit that makes it more valuable?

I knew of two installed in Shelbys. One a 68 GT350 and one a 69 GT350.
Yes way too much money. The ad may have "original Shelby" proviso to get the value up. Or just a guy fishing for a sucker.
Weren't these available through Shelby Parts at one time???

Don't be misled by that antiquated solution. Get onboard one of our solar electric scooters. Early adopters will also receive the auxiliary recharging cap as part of our new green deal.

Must have had more then a few miles on it given it already had factory tires replaced. Who knows how many sets . You were lucky to get 15,000 miles on a set of the bias ply tires ,10 or less if you did a lot of spirited driving.
Far fewer on the right rear of a rental car.

So, probably the Registrar can report how many cars they have information on, how many they don't and how many have been reported destroyed?
and reborn. With current prices I'm certain that many owners who lost these cars to accidents and/or rust many years ago are taking that tag out of the toolbox or off the garage wall and thinking of how to cash in.
