Quote from: J_Speegle on January 02, 2023, 03:48:48 PMWhen Peyton left Shelby Ford would not give him a franchise so he did Dana Chevrolet ....He was only a partner in Dana for about 15 months. He sold out to his partner (early 68) and went back to SA. Dana did become a performance powerhouse under his guidance. He snagged SA drag racer Don McCain to run one of their 427 Camaros. He got Dick Gulstrand to be their HiPerf manager and Dick ran a Dana Z28 and won a TA race with it in 67. They also ran a CanAm car. They did a lot of cars but don't get the same following as Yenko.
Quote from: silverton_ford on January 02, 2023, 11:03:33 AMI only knew Shelby & Spenser as the owners. Peyton Cramer had many titles at SA Director, General Manager, Marketing. He later owned a Lincoln-Mercury dealership.
Who were the stakeholders or partners in HPM? Carroll Shelby, Lew Spencer, Peyton Cramer and two others.... Who are the two others?

Quote from: crossboss on December 27, 2022, 11:54:34 AM...... Btw, how much is this car? Im sure most guys can build a 'real car' for a heck of a lot less.
Quote from: Cobra Ned on December 26, 2022, 09:45:51 AMThey are for the RestoMod crowd. You know those guys who want the romance of a car from their youth but don't have the ability to deal with balky shifters and coughing carburetors. It also might be a deep pockets thing showing your buddies that sure there is the original with single stage orange peel paint and then there is mine that I can see myself in. And don't forget don't you love my giant chrome wheels? I had the same ones on my Hot Wheels when I was a kid.
I, for one, can't understand why anyone would prefer an Eleanor over a stock '67 Shelby. There is simply no comparison in terms of design and/or appeal.
Quote from: TOBKOB on December 24, 2022, 07:25:44 PMWell they had a "seal" but it was more like a guide to steer the oil to the return tube and into the pan. The new ones are aluminum. It only has a slinger in the front. The oil that got by the rear main was absorbed by a felt pad in the bottom of the bellhousing and leaked from there to lube the attachment point of the front wishbone - then onto your garage floor.QuoteThe driver was smart enough to load the leaky Model A on the bottom. They held the record for oil leaks until the Corvair was introduced
Only because they were engineered without a rear main bearing seal...
