Hi, working on a 69 CJ car. Trying to determine which wire at the ignition switch is a 12 volt "switched" source to run the Pertronics off of. On my 68 , 2185, I think it was the "c" post of the switch. Any ideas on where to tap a 12 volt switched lead ?

going to paint the taillight panel for a buddy. Is there a specific "satin black" color that should be used? Also the qrt extensions  have a small inside curve that is also satin black, but these seem to have a "texture" to them. Is this correct ? or should they be a smooth finish.

Ok, this is NOT Shelby specific, trying to give my son some guidance.

he bought a 67 coupe that a PO had done a disc brake conversion on. There is/was no proportioning valve in the system. I suggested just using a complete 68 set-up (distribution block/proportioning valve ) and appropriate lines.
Anyone see a reason not to go this route? I do know it currently has a single pin switch vs the 2 pin 68 switch.

Need a little help... son bought a coupe to restore that had some work already done by PO. We recently discovered that the door tag is gone and the left apron bears a 5T vin code .... but he's holding a 6T title   I know the car had a both cowl panels replaced, new firewall, new floorpan and the outer A pillars were sectioned in with a short bit of the outer rockers.
I'm trying to find some other date codes in the body that will determine if this is a 65 or 66 car. There is no buck tag anywhere. I'm thinking someone may have grafted a 65 frt aprons and rails onto a 66 body. Need to locate some other stamped date codes to determine what year this thing started life as.

Not Shelby maybe , but .... did the 66 cars have a center brace as part of the seat risers? I have seen comments from others who bought risers and complained that they did not come with the "center brace" . Others in the replacement parts business say none existed ? Pics of Goodmark replacements do show a brace ... which was it ? I'm confused

Damn...pages are taking forever to load !  And I hate that all the great data from the old forum was lost, a real shame. Now I have to ask all the same stupid questions I've already ask over the past 17 years..

My car 2185, had a chrome metal bezel around the shifter boot. Is this the norm , or something the original owner added? It had a tendency to scar up the overlay which I recently replaced and I wonder about putting it back.
