If you do find original intake gaskets, beware. The originals I found were very nice but hard as a rock, so they leaked water into the intake runners. I was pretty meticulous on assembly and torqued to the aluminum intake spec, which I think is 16lbs +/- as I recall.   Re-torqued the intake to 22 lbs and they sealed up just fine.  Never had an issue with Mr. Gaskets or FelPro which are very compliant compared to the originals when torqued to the 16lbs.  Make sure your intake and head surfaces are a good match.

Make the hole smaller then?

Why not open the hole to fit a stock Ford boot?

Could be high float level. Get the engine to normal temp, then shut it off and look down the butterflies. If the butterflies are wet and or the boosters are dripping, you have a high flow level. Ethanol gas makes the problem worse.

I have seen rear main leaks due to line-bored mains. Has the block be lined bored? Crank moves up in the block and crushes the block seal lip and since the cap has been cut, the cap seal half will sit proud. Have to modify the back of the seal for the block half and shave some off the ends of the cap seal. Tough to do this with the crank in place and get the upper seal lip correct. A one piece seal is the way to go when you can. Doesn't take much for a split seal to leak if the lip is not sitting just right.

Is your cross bar on the shoe or the e-brake lever?

Yes, it is the output shaft we are speaking of, but I was thinking more as a machinist as you have to input the yoke into the housing after machining it to fit the yoke bushing and seal. It's not a fun project irt setup and cast iron filings are a mess.

You can machine the small block tail housing to fit the large input.

Figured it out, stock cover machined flat and pipe elbows installed in pump ports.

Wanted to Buy / Re: 28 spline original detroit locker

I have the original locker in my '65 and on the street it's really bad. Sounds like the rear is being knocked out of the car when it engages . My '66 street GT350 has a newer Eaton style and it's much more livable. Really don't even know its there most of the time.

1965 GT350/R-Model / Re: '65 Wood Steering Wheels?

Well... I can tell you for a fact my original die cast piece striped out at Laguna Seca in 1977. Scared the hell out of me. Turning the wheel and not the wheels leads to a bad feeling! I'm sure hot race tires didn't help the situation.
