Question? When the ducting flange pieces are attached from the outside, isn't it be possible to install the hose without removing the interior panel?

Drill the 3"+/- flange holes in the quarter and outer wheel well. Reach thru and push the plastic shield out of the way and shove the hose with flanged attached thru the quarter panel. Reach thru the outer wheel well and grab the hose and pull thru, then attach the hose with rivets, then rivet the flange to the outer wheel well.

Then a push rivet and glued on scoop would make sense. Am I missing something here?

6S2072. I know wrong wheels, from my '65, but I have five restored '66 10 spokes if I want to go back, just 20 lug nuts.  Just love the look of the Cragers.

If not aluminized maybe painted silver? One original assembly line picture appears that the exit pipes were unpainted. If left bare you would have thought rusty pipes would have been a warranty or at least a complaint issue?

Thanks Charles. Looks like the color is natural aluminized, correct?

Anyone know how far the pipes stuck out at the rockers?

I don't have my original intermediate pipes anymore to copy or the original headers for that matter. I had them both aluminum spray coated 45 years ago and that is all that what was left of them, the coating! They rusted from the inside out under the stairs of my mothers house in foggy San Francisco. I just couldn't remember if the reducer was part of the pipe or separate. Thanks for the info.

Redoing my '65 exhaust after 35 years and not sure how the header collector reducers were attached to the intermediate pipes. Were the reducers butt welded to the intermediate pipes (leading to the glasspacks) or was there no reducers and the intermediate pipes just welded to a header collector tri-flange?  If anyone has a picture of an original exhaust setup would appreciate seeing it. Thanks

Swede, Sorry for the late reply. The hoses I have are .375" O.D. with a .245" I.D. Kind of an odd ball size?

Picture of clamps on 3/8" hose. Wonder if the Corvette's used similar or any?
