Old topic but can someone please confirm which nut to use? Having a hard time trying to locate a photo.

Thanks again,

Be advised, the ones I purchased at NPD have markings. The package is an AMK package but the NPD tag says 55-57 Thunderbird. The bolts have a "TR" marking on them. Invoice shows to be concours correct! Will take them back for a refund but a pain. Also purchased bell housing [manual] bolts [5] in a package with washers. 4 out of the 5 bolts have different head markings and in a AMK package. Probably NOT concours either. Yet another trip to NPD to return non concours items that have been marked in their catalogue as such.

All the best,

Steve

Howdy,

Looking to buy the correct OEM four [4] transmission to bell housing bolts. Attached is a photo of the one I removed that I am sure is not OEM or correct. Can someone please post a picture of the correct bolt if no one has any to part with? Thanks in advance.

All the best,

Steve

Hi Cory,

I have the list and will send it to Jimmy if that is OK. It should help him.

Anyone have a picture of a properly installed dash speaker??? Just received my OEM speaker back from reconing and would like to reinstall correctly. Told only use 2 screws diagonally. Question: Mounted from top or underneath? Are little rubber bumpers part of the install? Tried searching but no luck with photos.

Thanks again,

Steve

When you change gaskets, do you use and gasket sealant goop also or just bolt it back...assuming all is well???

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Cory,

Yes, I am doing the same thing. I purchased the Carpenter kit from NPD [they are 10 minutes from the house]. I am still working on the guts of the box, repainting, removing old gaskets and fixing some cracks in the box. There is a Utube video [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wKF2ePbnp3k] Episode 110 that shows at the end you have to trim some of the heater box foam ends. I have not gotten to putting my box back together yet but I intend to try his techniques if I have any issues.

Good luck to you also!

Cheers,

Steve

I recently was taking apart the steering stuff. Also had a hard time beating them like crazy. I finally used a steering wheel puller that looks like JD's tie rod removal separator and it worked. Rubber seals are readily available from Virginia Classic Mustang. I just did not like the idea of the pickle fork. Looked to violent!!!

Cleaned all the parts and now putting everything back together today.

Cheers,

Hi Steve,

I have been using a real nice cover for years. See photo. It is very soft cotton. If the car is waxed good [have not done that in a while], it just slips off. It has the Ford logo on the front and "GT-350" embroidered in the back where it should be. Even had the option for stripes or not. The problem is I don't remember where I purchased it!!! When I lived in Dallas, I was at a Cars and Coffee event and there was a fellow there with a PRISTINE green GT-500 [and I mean GOOD]. I saw his cover in the trunk and asked him about it. They even embroidered the car serial number on a little tag near the front window. Maybe someone will see it and remember where they got it!!!!

I hope this helps.
