Due to unexpected demand, I have twice as many queries as I have shocks to sell.
I am taking these in the order in which they were received and will respond to all of you.   Just be informed that if you haven't asked me about them yet you probably missed out already.
Wish I had a lot more of these!

Parts For Sale / 66-70 Shelby Rear Shock Clones NOS (SOLD)

These New old stock Gabriel shocks are the perfect stand in for the original factory FoMoCo or Autolite shocks found on the rear of Shelbys produced from 1966 through 1970.
Though not adjustable, they were made by Gabriel in the same design and dimension as the originals.   They have about the same firmness as an adjustable shock on normal setting.   Correct bell shaped top and bottom and spot weld pattern on tops.  Fine thread studs as original.  New in orig. boxes with hardware.
These could simply be painted the right shade to match your year, or further detailed to remove the printing or even have engraved with the correct printing if desired.  A great economical way to make your car more correct.
I have collected these over the years and have enough to make 3 or 4 sets. They almost never come up anymore.
$150 per set plus shipping.  PayPal friends and family-- please PM me for info or questions......  Thanks,  Kurt.

Try West Coast Classic Cougar for rebuild.   Removal shouldn't be too difficult, especially with the short shaft box and rag joint.  It will come out from inside the cabin.

The factory stance on cars with Competition suspension typically looked low in the rear.  Personally, would investigate further before swapping the rears to be sure they are indeed sagging.  The new leafs will probably raise the rear higher than was stock.
At any rate if you decide to swap out the rears be sure to retain the lower leaf with part numbers to reassemble into the leaf pack.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: Brakes
September 16, 2019, 05:58:56 PM
The check valve mentioned actually is located underneath the tube seat(s) for the lines coming out of the MC,  you cannot see them by removing the bowl cover.
The disc brake MC is supposed to have a check valve in the line going to rear brake, while drum brake MC has check valves in both lines.
I really doubt your problem is there especially if they worked OK at one time.

I believe it is a FG-15 with the adapter or FG-14 without.  Some one please correct me if I am wrong (may have the numbers reversed).  Kurt.

QuoteYes ebay usually gives me a pretty good shipping discount. Last time I sold something I got a 12% discount on shipping.

Yes, but they end up with it all when they charge you 10% on shipping and PayPal gets 3% on the shipping as well.   Greedy b*st*rds but the only game in town.  Wish there were more competition in the online auction space.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: 1967 Shocks?

Seems the first thing to go are the top bushings on the front shocks especially if car jacked up until weight rests on the bushing.  Other than that they seem to last a long long time without leaking.

I am not sure with the Shelbys, but regular production Mustangs had different specs for the front coil springs when AC was ordered (and possibly rear spring rates as well).  There is fairly significant weight added to front of car with AC.  I suspect this would affect small block more than big block car as big block coils are a lot stiffer.

Years ago I swapped in a factory system into a small block 67 coupe and found a noticeable drop in the front stance as well as some degradation in handling.  I went back and swapped the front coils from the donor which corrected the problem.
Just a detail to think about when searching for a donor system.

1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / Re: 68 Hood hinge

The rotation is such that the rear of the hinge becomes lower than the front.
