Up For Auction / 1968 GT500KR FB on Craigslist
December 31, 2018, 01:30:08 PM
I have no affiliation with this car, and I emailed the owner to get a picture of the Shelby Tag, and he responded with no picture or Shelby  number:

https://phoenix.craigslist.org/cph/cto/d/las-vegas-1968-ford-mustang-shelby/6783666570.html

1968 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500KR. Special order Candy Apple Red with black interior. Has the numbers matching 428 cobra jet motor with 4 speed transmission. The car is a factory AC car as well. The car has all original black shelby interior that has never been taken out of the car. The car has one repaint in 2006 with correct factory code paint for the entire body and engine bay as well. I purchased the car from the previous owner who had owned it since 1970. Car has 67,000 original miles on it. This GT500KR comes with copies of the original order form from Reynolds Ford Dealership along with a copy of the original bill of sale for her. She also has a full Marti Report that comes along with it verifying all the factory numbers and options. I am asking $140,000 but am open to serious offers on her, please do your homework before making an offer or calling. I also don't need help selling the car so no brokers or car reps thanks! This is one of higher optioned shelbys that came out of ford in 1968 and is an absolutely awesome vehicle to drive! If you have any questions or would like to setup a time to see it feel free to shoot me a call or text show contact info

Replicas and Tribute / Revology 1966 Shelby GT350
November 24, 2018, 08:25:43 PM
I find this interesting. This car is for sale direct from Revology. It has 3,900+ miles on it and was featured in many publications. It's car #4.

...and, they want almost $195K for it.

Am I the only one that finds this crazy?  :o

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Power Steering Hoses
September 22, 2018, 10:18:37 AM
I know this question was asked and answered on the old forum, but what is the best place to get power steering hoses for an early 67 Shelby GT350?

Thanks!

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / New Horse in the Stable - 6S030
September 04, 2018, 10:25:08 AM
So, I got pretty carried away with the undercoating situation. So much so, that I forgot to post about what brought me to this point.

On August 25th, I became the new caretaker for 6S030 and I couldn't be more excited!

The previous owner was Ken Chrismon from Wichita Falls, TX. Ken originally bought the car when he was 18 years old in 1969 and he's had it ever since.

Much more to come! Here's a picture of 6S030 once I got her back to my place on a high dollar trailer.  ;D

I'm curious - how can you tell if a package tray is original or a reproduction?  I know that you can verify which cars had them, but I'm curious to know the difference between a real versus a reproduction package tray.

BTW - pictures would be MUCH appreciated!  ;D

Thanks!

Appeals / Removing Undercoating but Not Paint
August 26, 2018, 11:34:48 PM
I've been doing some research online to find the best way to remove undercoating from a car, but not disturb the paint underneath.  Has anyone had experience with this?

I have a car that had some of the original pinkish red oxide poking though a small area on the belly of the car (that particular area looked wet from oil or something - either way, the car hasn't been running for over 4 years).  I took a rag and some simple wheel cleaner (nothing too strong at all), and the undercoating came off really easy!  However, the dry areas wouldn't budge with the same cleaner.

I'd like to remove the undercoating, but not disturb the pain underneath, as it looks original to the car.  Thoughts?

Thanks!

Well, here it is...John Cena's Ford GT up for auction at Russo and Steele:

I like how they say "First & only unencumbered 2017 Ford GT to be sold at auction"  ::)

Let the bidding begin!

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / 1967 Shelby Jack???
August 14, 2018, 05:31:04 PM
Looking for some advise. The jack below has the 3/4 end used for Magstar Wheels in 67. But, the top looks wrong.

Is this for a Corvette instead?

Thanks!

WOW! That was some serious coin for this car: $217,250 with buyer's premium.

Anyone know the Shelby #? It's interesting, as Mecum usually identifies the #.

I was at the local cars and coffee in San Antonio, TX last month, and I spotted this 68 GT500.  I haven't seen it there before, and according to the registry, the present owner/whereabouts are not known.

I'm not sure if Vincent has this one updated with the current owner...I wish I had asked the guy his name.  He sure was happy to show off his car!  :)

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / 1966 GT350H - 6S1235
July 22, 2018, 04:04:20 PM
Given that we now have easy access to posting pictures, I'm THRILLED to start sharing pictures of different Shelby's I've seen out in the wild.

This first one is 6S1235.  I shot this as a car show in Fredericksburg, TX.  I don't know if the owner is on the forum, but would love to hear them him / her.

Enjoy!  :D

OMG - the episode was about athletes and their cars.  One of cars that Jay...ah...tried to drive, was a 50th Anniversary 1968 Shelby GT500KR C.S.S.

HOLY SMOKES!  The car didn't run for anything, and they ended up showing Jay stuck along the side of the road MANY times...even cursing, as he couldn't get the car to run right.   :o

Aren't these being reproduced through Shelby American?!?!
