I've learned that not everyone that buys cars buy them to make money. Some people buy them because they want one and can afford it. Plus you never lose money on anything till you sell it. I told my uncle one time your buying all the wrong cars for investing. He said I don't buy cars to make money I buy cars that I like. I've got plenty of damn money and I don't need to buy cars to make money. Although I was raised you don't buy anything you can't make money on as I've got older I can appreciate my uncles thinking. Get what you want while you can get it. Like my dad used to say I've only got one person to please and that's my damn self.

The more they push electric cars the higher gas powered cars are going to get. It's going to take a while to convince a lot of people to go electric. There is a market for electric cars it's been proven. I just don't think it's as big as they think it is. The way they're going at it they must think everyone is going to switch over night. A lot of people have even switched from electric golf carts to gas in the beach areas in North and South Carolina. That might should send up a red flag.

Appeals / Re: Well I wasn't looking but...

The optional engine was a L82 the L48 engine was standard. The casting numbers are not done like a Ford. If the car is that good and original it shouldn't be much to worry about. It's not like they gave much trouble plus no one used them for race cars they were just cruisers. I have a 1980 L82 I ordered new since everything Ford made at the time sort of sucked. The L82 actually has a 4 bolt main with the better heads with 2.02 Valves the intake was aluminum along with valve covers and a nice cam. L48s were 2 bolt main cast iron intake with lesser heads and cam. Sorry I gave you more info than you asked for use it for what it's worth.

The spark plug wires on my car say radio resistance in yellow lettering with the boots on each end black. They don't have autolite name that I see. I forgot to look at the boots for autolite or fomoco.

Up For Auction / Re: 1966 Shelby # 1558

At 116k it had a 13% fee added to it which made it around 130k. I watched the auction. I had some fairly good pictures of certain areas. the car looked to be in fair condition. It had a 6R09k motor but not the original one. Correct rear end. All numbers looked to be in place. I did not have a good picture of the torque boxes or rear frame rails

Thanks for organizing a nice event,  it was nice to see old friends and meet new ones. I had a great time with my my son and son in law. It was a good balance of old and new Shelbys. I think we can all appreciate both. The planes gave good shade and  I'm ready to do it again. I took a 65 #73 and my boy took a 2013 GT500 they both needed to be cranked and this gave us a good reason to get them out. Sorry We had to leave a little early to go to a wedding.
