Hi all,

This radiator is being offered on auction as a C4ZE-G2 four speed radiator.  I am not sure if original G2's were made this late. My understanding is the G2's are 65 models and very early 66 GT350's. Anyone can buy a C4ZE-G2 tag from AMK, convert bottom tank to four speed and solder onto any W-MO radiator.

Any thoughts?

Cory

Hi all,

Once upon a time, on a popular auction site, there was an individual that was selling restored, repaired and re-chromed shift handles with T-handle lock out and fixing the stretched cable.  He did excellent work and was very reasonable on price.  Please help me remember his name and contact info.  Hopefully he is well and still in business.  I could not find him.

I might have found him. Is he vfmsshop out of Maryland?  His auction handle does not ring a bell.

Thanks

Hi all,

I purchased rencelty some sunvisor brackets in very nice shape and was preparing to swap them onto a car.  But during the process I discovered there are two different versions.  The one I am use to seeing has a bend or joggle near the base.  The other is straight.  Any ideas why the differences? They both have the same part number C2AB-6204112-C and the same supplier.  Is one early and the other late?  Or?

Thanks

Hi all,

I am finding both black and blue non-AC voltage regulators for 1966 Mustang, part number C5AF-10316-A.  With AC is C5TF-10316-A.  Does the GT350 use the non-AC regulator and which color?

Thanks

Hi all,

On a radio delete car, was there anything placed where the speaker was located?  I have never heard of anything.  With the heater delete, the defroster vent outlets under the dash grill were capped off with cardboard like materiel, the same as the glove box card board.  Is there a cardboard blank for the speaker?

Thanks

Hi all,

I am putting a new bushing into a original GT350 XRR quick steering idler arm.  I have learned that the standard manual steering arm uses a different bushing than the power steering arm and the two have different out side diameters, with and without teeth.  See images below.  Also, the GT350 quick steering arm utilizes the larger OD power steering bushing with teeth.   I have several questions below.

1)  Why does one bushing have no teeth and the other has teeth?
2)  Why the difference in size?  Just to make one arm manual and the other power?  I believe they are the same length.
3)  Why does the GT350 manual quick steering use the larger power steering bushing with teeth?
4)  What actually moves when the idler arm rotates.  Does the rubber flex?  With the teeth, I can't see the inner spacer with teeth rotating on the support arm.

Thanks

Hi all,

Does any one know why the two versions?  Is the clear just for standard interiors (thus GT350) and the chrome for deluxe (Pony) interior?  The chrome is nicer looking, I wonder why not all the cars got the chrome grommet.  I assume a small cost savings.

I am then assuming chrome is not assembly line OEM for 66 GT350's.

Thanks

Hi all,

Is there a brand of header gasket that is close to what SAI used or even the same brand SAI used for the 66 GT350 Try-Y's?  Any recommendations?  Was Hooker the original header supplier?

Thanks

Hi all,

Please tell me the trick to getting off the emergency brake handle.  The pin is exposed on one side, but the other is covered by the handle.  Is the strategy to drill the handle to expose the pin and then hammer out?  I expect bracing the handle assembly will also help when knocking out the pin.

Thanks

Hi all,

Does anyone have a spare 1966 Mustang steering box tag HCC-AX with a date code in January, February or March 1966?  February would be perfect.  The image shows what the tag might look like.

Thank you

Hi all,

Any ideas on the this fan blade and the date code A62 (2 is upside down).  The typical date code on these fan blades would be like A66 for January 1966.  I have seen several of these fan blades with date code anomalies.  What gives?  (I will post images later tonight if no one beats me to it.)

I would consider with the date code anomaly, it really could be used on any 65-66 HiPo Mustang and be consider OEM correct, but if you are going to pay the big money, why not wait for a correctly date coded part.  The seller will have a hard time getting the big money for this fan blade.

Could the date code be January 1962?  I think this is too early for this blade, so it can't be 1962.

Thanks

Hi all,

I just checked on Marti Auto works tag section and read "With time, if there is enough interest, transmission and steering box tags may become available too."  Maybe it is time to call and ask for a tranny or steering box tag.

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / Ignition key is difficult
August 11, 2019, 12:27:56 PM
Hi all,

I am working on this San Jose K-code 66 Mustang.  The car came with no keys.  I had a key made from the passenger door lock on a good chance it would fit the ignition.  The passenger door would also be less warn.  The key works great in the doors.  My intuition was correct.  The key does work in the ignition, but patients is required to find the sweet spot to get it to turn.  Any suggestions on how to make the key work easier?  Do I need to hit the edges of the key with a fine file to round them out a little?  Or have a lock smith put in new tumblers in the lock to better match the key?  Or?

Thanks

Hi all,

I am working on a 66 San Jose Mustang K-code, front disc brakes.  I went to replace the rotors, same early style.  The drive side went on find.  No issue with installing the cotter pin.  However, on the passenger side, I was unable to install the cotter pin.  The outboard side of the rotor stuck out further and the nut and keeper were too proud to get the pin in.  The two rotors are identical.  I am starting to wonder if the passengers side spindle was replaced with a 67 version, not allowing the installation of the rotor.  Are there difference in the 66 and 67 spindles?  The bearing were the same part number on both sides.  The only variable I can't verify is spindles.  Is there something I can measure to tell a 66 from a 67?  If you have picture showing the differences, that would be great.

Also, are the V8 spindles for drum and disc brake the same spindle with in each year?  I see spindles advertised as drum, but IIRC, they are also the same  for disc brakes.

Thank you

Hi all,

I missed the Mustang Round Up at the Bellevue College back on July 21.  I have heard from Dave McDonald that there was a 66 GT350H that has come out of hiding, absent from the roads for over 25 years.  The story Dave told me was something like the father had passed away and now the son has stewardship of the car.  He recently got the car running and brought to the show.  The car looks a little rough with original paint.  Dave got a couple of pictures of the engine and other close ups, but not the entire car.  Did any body see and get a picture or know the SAI VIJN or mystery owner?  (Dave, straighten me out where I got the details not quite right.)

Thanks

Cory
