Hi all,

I am having trouble calculating transmission final gear ratios.  Help me understand where I am going wrong.  Below is the table for the 65-66 T10M1 gear set.  By dividing the gear teeth by the corresponding cluster teeth should be the final ratio, but it does not match the advertised final ratio.  What am I doing wrong?

Advertised Final Ratio       Gear tooth count     Cluster tooth count   Ratio of gear teeth to cluster gear teeth
1st gear           2.36                                  36                              17                            36/17 = 2.12, should be 2.36
2nd gear          1.62                                   29                             20                           29/20 = 1.45, should be 1.62
3rd gear          1.20                                   27                             25                           27/25 = 1.08, should be 1.20
4th gear          1.00                                    26                            29                              26/29 = 0.90, should be 1.00

All four calculations can be corrected with the same "fudge factor" equal to 1.1154.

For example:

1st  gear  with 2.12 X 1.1154 = 2.36199, rounds to 2.36
2nd gear with 1.45 X 1.1154 = 1.61731, rounds to 1.62
3rd  gear with 1.08 X 1.1154 = 1.20462, rounds to 1.20
4th  gear with 0.90 X 1.1154 = 1.00000, rounds to 1.00

What am I missing?

Thanks

Up For Auction / Derelict SFM6S1060 1966 GT350 red
October 10, 2018, 02:10:50 AM
Hi all,

I am surprised no one has posted anything on this car 6S1060.  It was on the same site (Geevers) as the recently extracted 67 GT500.  Does anyone know about it and its history?  For more pictures see:

http://www.geevers.nl/en/inventory/shelby-shelby-gt350-barn-find-893?m=&t=&y=&c=&s=&cl=&sort=

Also, I did send the seller a note to get the price, but he instructed me that I need to call during business hours.   Will I be charged for an international call if I make from my cell phone?  I also need to check the time differences.

Enjoy

Hi all,

Can someone advise a source for the OEM staple and the tool to attached the rubber to splash shields.   The OEM staples look like wire, round.

Are the staples in this kit correct?

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Splash-Shield-Seal-Kit-1965-1966-Mustang/382585313467?hash=item5913dc98bb:g:7BoAAOSwFYZbu-5m&vxp=mtr

Is there a staple gun for installing these that will pierce the metal shield?

Looks like Brant sells the same kit:

Any help would be great.

Thank you

Hi all,

Here are some images of a recent extraction from a owner that put the car down in 1974 and never finished.  The car is being re-assembled to return back to the California DMV to have the car inspected and a new title issued.  The CA DMV said they would not issue the title to an incomplete car.  The below images are from a few weeks ago at the prior owner's shop.

Enjoy

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / San Jose Firewall Pad question
September 21, 2018, 03:11:05 PM
Hi all,

This should be an easy one, but wanted to confirm.  Is the 1966 Mustang firewall pad different from the Dearborn and Metuchen pads?  I believe so, but wanted to confirm.

I believe the San Jose pad has the lump pattern and the Dearborn and Metuchen are just rough and random pattern.  Does that sound right?  How would you describe the differences?

Thanks

Up For Auction / Repop Ten Spoke 1966 GT350 wheel
June 25, 2018, 02:52:54 PM
Hi guys,

This wheel looks like a re-pop.   Do you agree?  The seller's asking a price as if it were original 1966. Don't be fooled.

Take care

Cory

Hi Bob,

Sometime ago someone posted and images of a early 66 GT350 with the remnants of a hang tag still attached to drivers side trunk hinge.  Please remind me what the tag said.

Thanks

Hi All,

I need to replace the wiper switch, but am having difficulty disconnecting the wiring harness.  I can't seam to find any levers to pinch to release the grip.  Any suggestions?

I swear I have done in the past, but can't figure it out this time.  Coming back from a Show and Shine I went through a cloud burst with no wipers.  Good thing I was going fast enough, most the water was running off the windshield.

Thanks

Hi all,

Do you know if the Ford small block  tri-power set up came with tags?  All three carbs?  The ford part numbers are C4AF-9510-U and C4AF-9510-V.  I would like to have some tags made up, but it they did not come with tags, not need to spend the money.

Thanks

Hi guys,

I believe all 65 Mustang fastbacks had a rear seat latch with no bumper and smaller hole in latch cover.  I am seeing the early 66 GT350 also had this same latch style.  But on later 66 cars, I am seeing a latch with bumper  and larger hole in the cover to accommodate the strike and bumper.  Is this consistent with your observations?  Any idea on the transition point.  I might try the MPC to see if a date is specified.

Thanks

Hi all,

(Found one - Thank you for looking.)

Does any one have a spare they are willing to sell?  The 1966 version I need has the larger hole for bumper and latch when compared to the small hole version with no bumper.  Here is a link to the exact one needed.  You might need to scroll down to view.  I will add image tonight if needed.

Hi all,

Can some post this article.  I can not find on the internet.  It makes a nice reference for all the C4 equipped 66 GT350 owners.

There is an image in the article that shows which two holes in the valve body separation plate that can to be drilled to meet the HiPo C4 specifications.

Thanks

Hi all,

Here are four NOS (New Old Stock) brand new tires that are in excellent condition. I had purchased for my 1993 COBRA Mustang, but have since sold the car. These tires are discontinued and no longer available. If you are putting a COBRA back to show room stock or just want OEM tires, these are for you. Finding another set will be tough. Here is your chance. $1800 free shipping.

Thanks

Hi all,

This is a used 6 bolt COBRA scatter shield or bell housing for a small block Ford 289 302. This housing has been verified to be within the tolerance for aligning to the crank with a dial indicator. With any performance engine build, this housing, or for that matter any housing, should be dialed into your specific block. It is ready to go. $1600 OBO plus the ride.  Thanks

Hi all,

On the 65-66 Mustangs and GT350's, were all the heater hose clamps the  1-1/8 or where there some 1.0 mixed in?

Thanks

At the risk of revealing another secret, does anyone know the origin of the center section of the 66 GT350 or K-code center section housing.  Is it a Ford Galaxie, Ford truck, big block or?  It can't be unique.  Or the "make from" part.

Thanks
