Hi all,

I have a set of original 1965 or 1966 Shelby Mustang GT350 racing lap belts. The tags are shot and unable to determine the manufacture, Ray Brown or lmpact.  I purchased years ago from Orlando Mustang. The belts likely came from a local Florida car that may have been a "barber  find".  The webbing is in beautiful shape, however the hardware will need help,  The long hooks are very corroded. The buckle parts are in decent shape and the middle adjusters are so-so. They will need restoration, with rechromed hardware, new tags and new leather fobs.  Asking $500 plus the ride. See attached images. Send me a message if you're interested. Thank you

Hi all,

I bought a nice deluxe wheel that had this used repop center cap.  I replaced with an original GT350 cap.  I am offering the repop cap for sale, but understand that it might be hard sale here.  I'd like $50 plus the ride.  I am not sure of the vintage.  I have seen new caps, retail between $99 (Out of stock) up to $162.  Please see attached images and send me message for more info or if interested.  Buy as a spare to put on during a car show so if anyone wants to liberate you of your very nice original steering wheel cap, they get a repop.

Thanks

Hi all, I have an original 1966 GT 350 rotunda mirror that the original reflective glass popped out and fortunately did not break.  I'm planning to use that mirror on another Rotunda mirror with broken glass with nice chrome. I had two replacement mirrors made from the same glass material as the original.  One placed in painted Rotunda mirror.  The other in lower right in image. The original is lower left in image for comparison.  I have an extra one if anybody needs one. I'd like $40 plus shipping. If there's interest I can have more mirrors made.  I will look into it. Please let me know.
Thanks

Hi WASAAC guys,

What's the story on this car?  Notice the absent "H" in the side stripe.  Do you suppose this was done back in the late 60's to lesson the attention to it being an ex-rental?  I have heard that the "H" designation was removed from some cars to this very end.

One of the comments on the thread was "I think this car used to sit in Lakewood, Washington about 15 years ago. I remember seeing a black and gold Shelby in a guy's driveway that looked just like this with faded stripes and all...."

Appeals / Vacuum line beaded end type
September 17, 2022, 09:49:47 PM
Hi all,

Can any advise how to make this beaded end on a 3/8 rigid vacuum tube for power brakes.  I am having trouble finding the right tool and is this the correct name for the tubing end type?

Thanks

Hi all,

Could not find a source for these dots, so I tried making them myself.  They are close to the OEM dot, but if anyone has a better source, please let me know.

Thanks

Hi all,

Is there a vendor left that still sells the 65-68 Mustang foam heater seal kit with the OEM foam?  I am finding many sell the Dennis Carpenter kit which is made from a more solid duration foam.  The OEM foam is more of an open cell.  In the attached image, you can see the OEM style foam.  The vendor that has this image now sells the Dennis Carpenter kit.  So their website image no longer matches the product they send.   I am hoping to find a vendor that still sell the OEM material.  Please advise.

Thanks

Hi all,

I am working on a FE distributor and discovered the three nylon buttons between the two plates are missing.  Please see attached images from another FE distributor, how I discovered they were missing.  Can anyone advise where to find these buttons.  I expect they are also common to the small block distributors.

Thanks

Hi all,

Can someone advise on the correct spare tire mounting plate/disc for either 10 spoke or Magnum 500 wheel.  I was under the impression it is the small disc maybe without the three tabs.  The attached image shows the smaller disc with the three tabs bent out.
Thanks

Hi all,

I was looking up the thread size on the screw for the gas pedal (1/4 -28) to clean up the threads with the correct die.  On the AMK site they show a retainer along with the screw.  I had not seen before.  What is the purpose of this retainer once the pedal is installed and the screw tighten to the linkage bell crank?  I can see a purpose if the screw is loose attached to the pedal and the retainer to secure to pedal, but once it is installed what is the purpose?

Thanks

Hi all,

Don't be fooled.  The sellers claiming original, but based on the absent S1MS part number, the absent raised surface around bolt holes and the nicer than original side tool access pockets for tool and fasteners, it appears to me as a repop.  It is just an older repop with some patina.  The seller asking just under $2000.

What do you think?

Hi all,

I was at the Portland Swamp Meet this weekend and I came across this oil pan from a buddy.  He thought I might know the story on it, but I do not.   I expect it is aftermarket.  The welds do look very professional.  It has three baffles inside.   I don't think it is a home made job.   Does anyone have a idea on the manufacture or any other info?

Thanks

Hi all,

I was doing some research on the cam bearing thrust plate and learned there are three variations for the HiPo 289 change L7 and after.  The difference is the thickness.  They are:

Standard .250

.002 Oversized at .252

.004 Oversizde at .254

Please help me understand why the three sizes.  Does it have to do with the alignment of the cam timing chain gear to alignment to the crank timing chain gear?

How do you determine which size is needed?

The before L7 change HiPo 289 gets a .375 thick thrust plate.  You don't want to mix these up.

Thanks

Hi all,

Does anyone have an extra pair of the RBW COBRA oil pan bolts for 1966 GT350.  I am looking for two.  See attached image.  Please send me a message if you do.

Hi all,

Attached is an image of the rear axle tag from 6S1585.  The 2011 registry shows the "926" as the "Plant Code".  Will all the tags for 1966 GT350 (post 6S252) have this same code?  I could not find any info on the plant code.  Please advise.

Thanks

Hi all,

Here is an early version of the HiPo 289 equalizer bar.  I'd like to get $175 plus the ride, OBO.  It seems to be a good shape.  There is some wear on the pin.  I was going to modify to the later 66 version, but found an original 66 version instead.  This piece came from the Shelby Parts and Restorations.

Please send me a PM if interested.

Thanks

Up For Auction / HiPo 289 A66 date code - not right
March 02, 2022, 10:59:31 PM
Hi all,

I came across this fan blade.  It does not look OEM.  The part number and date code stamping are not consistent with other blades I have observed.  The seller does not claim original, but "Used", which could be interpreted by an unsuspecting bidding as original.  I believe it is a reproduction.  The seller has a second HiPo blade dated coded F92 which is definitely a reproduction.

A66 = https://www.ebay.com/itm/154878793471?hash=item240f7ed6ff:g:V24AAOSwlo5iH6kT

F92 = https://www.ebay.com/itm/154878791340?hash=item240f7eceac:g:fPsAAOSwfBliH6oe

Comments?  (I'll add image when I figure out how to.)

Hi all,

I have an early 65 GT350/K-code Mustang equalizer or Z-bar for four speed.  The significant distinguishing feature is the swivel at the top.  I am looking for the later version with the swivel removed and the holed drilled for the third return spring to attach.  I would like to trade this early bar for the later bar, but would also buy if needed and then sell the early version.  I could also modify this bar to be near later version, but there are other smaller differences, but functionally I could make work and look the part.  I would like to see someone with a 65 actually use.   Please send a PM and we can discuss more.  (I will add an image of the bar when the upload folder is no longer full.)

Thank you

Hi all,

Has anyone had a 1966 GT350H Magnum 500 wheel restored by Stockton Wheels in California, 648 W Fremont St, Stockton, CA 95203.  I have only heard that they might, but have not heard from anyone that has and liked their work.  AFAIK, they might be the only company restoring these wheels.  Last I checked, these company were no longer doing it: Wheel Vintiques, Paradise Wheels, Specialty Wheels in Sandy Oregon and a place in Colorado (that I can't remember the business name.)

Any leads would be helpful.

Thanks

Hi all,

I finally received these 1966 GT350 center cap nuts.  As far as I can tell, they are identical to originals.  In the image below, the new nuts are on left and originals on right.  I had to buy a bunch to get cost per nut down due to minimum  shipping and handling cost.  If you need any, I'd like $1 each, minimum 4, plus $1 USPS first class mail.  PayPal friends and family works well.  Please send a message if interested.  Thanks
