The Lounge / Anyone famiiar with dealer numbers
November 21, 2018, 09:47:41 AM
I have a 68 GT fastback (not a Shelby) and was curious what dealer it came from.  The DSO was 11 and looks like the number is 11I504.   Somewhere in new England based on the Boston DSO but if anyone knows what dealer that code translates to that would b helpful.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / ePay intake and carbs correct?
November 13, 2018, 01:39:16 PM
Can anyone tell me if ePay item number 263905687390 is an original intake and carb set up for  67 GT500?  It may even be a fellow members here but I figured I would ask for people wiser than me to point out what's correct or not. My set-up is kind of a mess and figured maybe I would buy a nice original set-up if the price was right. This is for a driver not a how car but it would be nice to be close to correct  :)

I recently purchased a 68 GT fastback (302) project and it came with a few clusters- including one with a 6k tach.  The car is not a Shelby but I figured many of you also diversify your mustang habit and may know if the tach's were standard feature or an option on the GT's?  It doesn't show specifically on the Marti report but I'm not sure it would.

1969-1970 Boss 302/429 / Have a rolled fender picture?
October 02, 2018, 08:15:20 AM
I have the next couple days off to get my 1970 Boss 302 ready for paint and realized the front fenders are original ford but don't have the rolled in lip that the Boss's had (and Mach 1's with the larger tire option).  Can someone post a picture or two so I can see where the fold in starts and ends and to what degree so I can try to replicate it?  The more the merrier! Thanks for your help.

I want to spray my undercarriage with red oxide primer. They are already epoxy primed/sealed and I just want the original look. I've gone to Sherwin Williams Automotive paints (a big supplier) and even looked at Eastwood's and it seems like nobody makes it anymore.  If I go on eBay I've seen a couple "off brand" gallons and who knows if they are the lighter or that dark brownish red oxide color.   Has anyone had luck tinting grey primer? Is there a national source for the correct red-oxide color? Seems like I am not having any luck in CT finding anything so far- what are you guys using?

I need some red paint for a 70 project I am working on. I use a Sherwin Williams auto paint center and in the past if I had a PPG or some other paint manufacturer brand number they could cross reference/find the mix for my old paint codes. I used to have an old mustang resto book that had a cross reference table but I can't find it.  Does anyone have any manufacturer codes for 70 medium red code T?  Thanks.

Up For Auction / 1969 Shelby on Boston CL
June 05, 2018, 01:19:29 PM
Not mine but noticed it and am passing along the info.  If you are patient I've seen decent drivers in the mid 40's to early 50's and with paint costing 10-20k these days not sure if a project is worth 40k but I'm sure it would fit the bill for a do it yourselfer.

If anyone has more details on the car may as well include them here.

I was looking at pictures on the internet of the area behind the glove box and gauge area and it seems some cars had a red oxide color while others had body color, black etc.  Should this area- the top of the firewall inside the car and the lower portion of the inside cowl the heater box hangs from be red oxide with black overspray(or whatever color your metal outer dash area was painted)?  Would it be the same for a 67 versus the 69/70 bodies?  Looking at images on the internet was no help  :)

I was looking at my 1970 Boss the other day and am thinking someone back in the day rolled the rear QP inner lip inward- not just at the top but much of the way around. Can someone post a few pictures of that inner lip so I can see where in the radius it starts to go from flat to rolled and how much?  The very top mine is pretty well rolled so no half inch or anything of flat lip metal. If I can get some decent photos of an untouched original I may try to reform mine to an original look. Thanks for your help

I am going through my spares this coming weekend to eventually thin out what I have. I think I have read in the past that the 1966 and the 1967 V8 car front spindles regardless if it was a 66GT Mustang coupe or Shelby 67 GT500- Is that correct?   If not what are the different casting numbers to differentiate them? Thanks!

1969-1970 Boss 302/429 / Hurst Shifter- which one?
March 01, 2018, 03:03:04 PM
I need a Boss 302 4sp 1970 shifter assembly, lever, rods etc. I have read enough where the chrome shift lever is easy enough to identify as a 70 and same with the rods because of the Dxxx #'s.  The question comes in with the body of the shifter. I have seen even on the Boss 302 page a shifter and its labeled as super shifter . When I look on ebay there are some that are stamped competition plus and others just say Hurst and their bodies all look (to me at least) like the same body and levels and they are being called 70 boss shifters. Anyone know what they came from the factory with?  Prices are all over the place and I would prefer to get the correct one if spending the money on a used one.

Note: I didn't post to the Boss exchange because I can't seem to register there (same problem people used to have here)

I am looking for a standard dash cluster with a tach for my 1970 mustang.  Not concerned about the bezel but the 1970 standard gauges are different than the deluxe and different then the 1969.  I've included a picture.  If you have one PM me and let me know what you need to get.  Thanks

NO Longer Available- sold.

I have an original 9 inch rear I bought a year or two ago for $2100. It was rebuilt right before I bought it (have receipt somewhere) and never installed. Its a 3:50 gear and POSI.  The casting near where the summer bracket attaches says C5A or C6A (hard to read). The casting on the orange part which I believe is the date code seems to read 1  2  6 (also hard to read).  The housing is pitted as its an old original and there is no tag but you can buy repro's I guess if needed.  If I can get $2000 back out of it I'll sell it. If interested PM me.  It is located in CT near the Springfield Mass border. I prefer pickup- I personally don't plan to crate it and ship it but could maybe drop it off to somewhere local as is. Thanks.

I plan to start focusing on my late 67 GT500 this spring and was wondering if an undercarriage finishing guide exists like I've seen for the 66 and 69's. If so can someone post it?   The two others mentioned are some of the best resources I've seen over the years. Thanks.
