If it were mine I would be tempted to NOT wash that exterior- looks awesome like that! Great project.

Sounds like an interesting car. No allusive pictures still huh- I can understand why, most would want to let all the swamp water drain out of the interior, get the mud cleaned off before they assembled it with Craigslist parts for its first "as found" pictures ;) LOL. Obviously I'm just kidding, I had trouble with the old site so understand you pain. Coralsnake has a great site with info and is fun to read as you begin your journey into Shelby ownership. The research, history and then the rebuilding process is the fun stuff (and often more rewarding then the investment angle).

1969-1970 Boss 302/429 / Re: Boss Rear Quarter Panel Lip Rolled?

After seeing those pictures its clear that mine were rolled in a little at one point for bigger tires.  Thanks so much for the pictures I can now figure out my game plan.

« on: March 21, 2018, 02:41:13 PM »
I was looking at my 1970 Boss the other day and am thinking someone back in the day rolled the rear QP inner lip inward- not just at the top but much of the way around. Can someone post a few pictures of that inner lip so I can see where in the radius it starts to go from flat to rolled and how much?  The very top mine is pretty well rolled so no half inch or anything of flat lip metal. If I can get some decent photos of an untouched original I may try to reform mine to an original look. Thanks for your help

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: All 1966-1967 V8 front spindles the same?
« on: March 16, 2018, 03:09:03 PM »
Thanks- that's helpful. From that post it basically sounds like for mustang/Shelby that 65-66 V8 spindles are the same (drum or disk),  All big block and small block 1967 spindles are the same but unique to 1967 (drum and disc the same), and that 1968's if they had disk brakes used a dick brake spindle (68 drum spindle wouldn't work).   Now I have to dig out what I have and try to find part numbers to identify!  Thanks again.

I've been hoping to see vintage 60's pictures or memorabilia for Pueblo Ford (6420 E 22nd St Tucson AZ).  Anyone have some stuffed away in your archives?

I'm a little confused (which is normal).  One note says "65 and 66 8 cylinder Mustang and 65 Falcon and Comet 8 cylinder spindles" and "All 67, and 68 69 Mustang and Cougar drum brake spindles are the same" and then a later post says "65 through 67 Kelsey Hayes disc brakes use the same spindle as the drum brakes."  The two seem to conflict since one is saying 65-66 are unique and the second post says 65-67 are the same?  Or am I misreading something?  Based on this, is the consensus that 1965 through 1967 V8 (big or small block) Mustang and Shelby's all used the same spindles regardless of disc or drum?

I am going through my spares this coming weekend to eventually thin out what I have. I think I have read in the past that the 1966 and the 1967 V8 car front spindles regardless if it was a 66GT Mustang coupe or Shelby 67 GT500- Is that correct?   If not what are the different casting numbers to differentiate them? Thanks!

1969-1970 Boss 302/429 / Re: Hurst Shifter- which one?
« on: March 06, 2018, 09:35:15 AM »
Are any of the pictures I posted 1970 mustang/boss? (all were claimed to be original 70 boss/mustang on ebay). If not, anyone have any pictures they could post of the visual differences - I'm not real familiar with shifter terms so pictures help?

The push in shifter lever is a good one I can look for. Would there be a specific code on the body just like they did on they chrome handles?

Yes, it was in some of the big block mustangs also.

The experts here can correct me but the RUG-S was also used in 1967 so the C6 tail could work if you plan to use it as a 67 trans and the C7 could work on a 68. What I cant answer for you is around what Shelby serial number in 1967 did the tailshaft go from C6 to C7 (example did #2700 and above use a C7?).    Which one you use would depend on at year and Shelby serial number.

1969-1970 Boss 302/429 / Hurst Shifter- which one?
« on: March 01, 2018, 03:03:04 PM »
I need a Boss 302 4sp 1970 shifter assembly, lever, rods etc. I have read enough where the chrome shift lever is easy enough to identify as a 70 and same with the rods because of the Dxxx #'s.  The question comes in with the body of the shifter. I have seen even on the Boss 302 page a shifter and its labeled as super shifter . When I look on ebay there are some that are stamped competition plus and others just say Hurst and their bodies all look (to me at least) like the same body and levels and they are being called 70 boss shifters. Anyone know what they came from the factory with?  Prices are all over the place and I would prefer to get the correct one if spending the money on a used one.

Note: I didn't post to the Boss exchange because I can't seem to register there (same problem people used to have here)

Wanted to Buy / Wanted 1970 BOSS 302 Tach cluster Standard
« on: February 21, 2018, 08:27:22 AM »
I am looking for a standard dash cluster with a tach for my 1970 mustang.  Not concerned about the bezel but the 1970 standard gauges are different than the deluxe and different then the 1969.  I've included a picture.  If you have one PM me and let me know what you need to get.  Thanks
