1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / 1970 GT350 Shift Knob
January 07, 2019, 01:08:55 PM
Does anyone make reproduction shift knobs for 70 Shelby's? I'm referring the to the all walnut 4 speed looking shift knobs. Where these the same for the 350's and 500's?  I can't seem to find OE or reproductions for sale.

Thanks

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / Paxton on a 69 GT350?
December 15, 2018, 10:30:37 AM
I know the Paxton wasn't a factory in 69 but does anyone make a bracket similar to the ones found on a 66/67 that will fit a 351w?  I spoke with Craig Conley and he doesn't have or make them.

December 14, 2018, 03:46:13 PM
Not my car; it's coming up for auction at Mecum soon. I was considering having an inspection done, does anyone know anything about this car? What are the big issues you can see in the pictures?

When were the 70 Shelby VIN numbers changed? Was it prior to dealership delivery, or were the cars delivered as 69's to the dealership and later returned for a vin change? I'm just courios about the details.

What does the correct trunk matt look like for a 70 GT350? I've seen a few versions out there. Can anyone recommend a quality repo?

Hello,
Looking to confirm that a 1970 Shelby with a special paint code such as Competition Red would be blank in the color box on the door data sticker.

Thanks

Does Anyone have a copy of Shelby American #71? The back issue is sold out. I'm trying to look up something, supposedly my a 70 GT350 #3024 won "first place" at SAAC 26. I think issue 71 covers saac 26 and I was hoping someone could verify the result for me or sell me an old issue.

Thanks.

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / Exhaust Tip Defector
October 08, 2018, 08:36:19 AM
I saw this deflector on the attached car ad. It was also on my car when I bought it, I took it off. Anyone know the story with this piece? Was it a dealer option or an auto parts add on? Common, not common? It seems to help with keeping the messing carbon from getting everywhere.

I've been searching ads for well over a year looking for a 67 GT350 4 speed, during my search I've noticed quite a few 67 GT500's for sale but only a very small number of 1967 GT350"s. Search ebay, Hemmings, Dupont Registry or even this site and you'll see a at least 7 or more GT500's for sale at this very moment... maybe one or two GT350's. This seems to be a common trend in the last year or two...are 350's traditionally sold via other means, sold so fast they're not listed very long or are guys just holding on to them because prices are low?

I'm about to have my 70 Shelby GT350 car number 3024 painted. I'm taking it apart for before I drop of to the painter and had a couple of questions.

1. How do I get the Cobra and Shelby emblem off the side of the car? Is it attached from the interior of the car?

2. How do I remove the rear trunk Shelby Emblem?

3. My door tag appears original but in bad shape, recommend masking off for the paint or would you recommend replacing?

4. The area directly behind my front bumper is painted black, I was told it was supposed to be a dark greyish color on the 69's. Is that the same for all 69 Shelbys? What color is it?

5. Any other tips or advice? This isn't a full on concourse paint job, I'm just refreshing the tired paint on this driver car of mine but I'd like to keep things accurate without going too crazy.

I understand 66 Hertz cars were unique  in that they were black red, green or blue with gold stripes and the rocker stated GT350H. I've seen a few 68-69 Shelby's advertised for sale as Hertz cars as though they were special or different. Other than the fact they were rental cars is there anything unique about a 68-69 Shelby Hertz vice the non Hertz cars such as special paint or wheels?

Can someone please post a picture of their engine with the air cleaner removed. I'm looking for correct engine compartment pictures to determine how my vacuum lines are routed as well as determine the proper fittings. In particular, the lines from the distributor and the rear intake manifold vacuum fitting to include power brake line.   My car is a 1970 GT350, 4 speed non ac.

Thanks

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / Tie Rods?
March 08, 2018, 04:58:47 PM
Please forgive my silly questions... I have a later build 70 GT350 with the big suspension. It's my understanding the tie rod ends where it connects to the spindle on my car are larger than the earlier 69-70 cars, are these ends the same as the 70 Mach 1 tie rod ends? Will any 70 Mustang tie rod end work on my late build (June 12, 1969) GT350?

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / Idler Arm
March 07, 2018, 05:58:24 PM
I'm trying to determine the correct idler arm for my 70 GT350. The arm I removed has a bolt at the bottom where it connects to the bracket. The only markings I see are 2 G on the top and 233 on the bottom of the arm.

Most of the replacement idlers arms I see don't have the bolt connecting the arm to the bracket they appear to be pressed on. Which is correct?

1969-1970 Shelby GT350/500 / Spindles
March 02, 2018, 10:34:01 PM
What color were the spindles on the 70 GT350? If natural what paint would replicate that finish? Thanks.
