Give you a hint...

Seems like I've met that guy who rode with Carroll at Indy.  I think he has a KR and a Kirkham, and loves 427s.

Hmmmm...one guy's name in there from 1991 kinda sounds familiar to me.

Wonder what happened when the front wheels touched down.   A wild ride into the guardrail?

^^^^ +1!

Plus, Brock has always been a super nice and congenial guy every time I've chatted with him.

Most recently was at Mike McCluskey's shop. Brock dropped by to see what was in the shop that day.

Thanks for the pix, Rich.  I'd never noticed the similarity in the rear and roof styling to the 240-Z.

Yes, I understand, Bob.  I'm talking about the house-rattling sounds emanating at 6AM when the guy went to work.

Probably not a lot of R-Models in the ol' neighborhood in those days.  ;D ;D

And those tires look pretty slick for an icy day.

Yes, someone's dad was super cool.  Good times!

^^^ Great photo^^^   That's a large diameter exhaust pipe for what was (probably) a 289.  I assume there was matching pipe on the passenger side.

Must have made a wonderful neighbor-waking blaaaaaattttt when he left for work each morning.

Don't those cross-hair-styled taillights signify it's a Mercury Comet?

I miss his sarcastic sense of humor, love of cars, and kindness to his friends whenever it was needed.

Had lots of crazy fun times with him over the 20+ years we were buddies and in the magazine world.

Hammer down, Kiwi.

"Get those damn kids off the hood of that acid-dipped race car, or the tech officials will notice the dents!"

Very interesting, Richard.

I am always amazed by the accuracy of law enforcement artists' conception drawings of suspects.

Not only on the artists' abilities to listen closely to eye witness descriptions, and ask all the right questions, but about the accuracy of those eye witnesses' descriptions.

I've heard from LEOs I've known that "eye witness descriptions are often very inaccurate."

Seems that this time, they may have been spot-on.

I can see one shark, but are the others stingrays?   Not appropriate for a Shelby forum... ;D ;D ;D
