That is a very pretty car!  Perfect for today, or any day.  Go out and spread some unburned hydrocarbons around for the rest of us!

Great pix of the little girls in the toy Mustang.   Wonderful experience and memories from 1965.

But, fast forward to 2020:   ALERT ALERT!  The kids aren't in rear-facing child seats!!!  And there's no adult in the car with them!!!!  Jail the parents immediately.

"If" by Rudyard Kipling.  The first line is my favorite.

"If you can keep your head when all about you
    Are losing theirs and blaming it on you,
If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you,
    But make allowance for their doubting too;
If you can wait and not be tired by waiting,
    Or being lied about, don't deal in lies,
Or being hated, don't give way to hating,
    And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise:

If you can dream—and not make dreams your master;
    If you can think—and not make thoughts your aim;
If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster
    And treat those two impostors just the same;
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
    Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
    And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools:

If you can make one heap of all your winnings
    And risk it on one turn of pitch-and-toss,
And lose, and start again at your beginnings
    And never breathe a word about your loss;
If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew
    To serve your turn long after they are gone,
And so hold on when there is nothing in you
    Except the Will which says to them: 'Hold on!'

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
    Or walk with Kings—nor lose the common touch,
If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you,
    If all men count with you, but none too much;
If you can fill the unforgiving minute
    With sixty seconds' worth of distance run,
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
    And—which is more—you'll be a Man, my son!

The seller of the Bullitt Mustang is probably breathing a sigh of relief that the car went to auction when it did.

The buyer, maybe not so much.

For a car like that, IMO there could be a $1 million or so drop in auction price because of all this....had they all waited until now.

Looks like time to stock-up on vintage Shelby cars.  The world will come back to its senses at some point.

If it doesn't, we're all screwed anyway.  May as well go out with a lengthy burnout and run through the gears.

whut?  :o

I don't know anything about this seller, but it baffles me how they would have a crappy 88.9% feedback while Pookie still manages a stellar 100%.

Or do these guys just suck at a much greater rate than Pookie does?

Thanks for the Mantaray pix.  I'd hate to be the guy who had to change its spark plugs or a radiator hose.  Does the body tilt up somehow?

I realize that custom cars don't have to be funtional.   But, just sayin'...

JD. The other option is LED replacements. They're green and as you stated: You can actually see read the gauge. I ordered them from Amazon last night.

Agreed. I put LEDs in my KR's dash lights and really like them. The color seems to be a bit more blue, but they're bright and do the job.

Stateside a lot of sporting events are cancelling or postponing. Internationally the FIA has postponed the Bahrain, Vietnam and Austrian Grand Prix's so far, I'd be curious if LeMans even goes off this year.

Now SVRA has cancelled the Road Atlanta Pro-Am, the other scheduled races are still on, for now.

I'd think that any completely outdoor event like a car race would be no more safe or unsafe than going outside and breathing in air.
That air has to come from somewhere. Even if you're in your own backyard.  ;D

Humans can be scared little animals sometimes, easily swayed by media, politicians and other fear-mongers. Yet, in many other instances, humans are capable of amazing, heroic, and super-human feats of bravery and selflessness.

I guess which type we each choose to be defines our character.

My hat is eternally off to first-responders, law enforcement, firefighters, EMTs, military, and everyone else who keeps us safe.

As for now, I'll be out enjoying events and hoarding nothing but old car magazines.

Agreed.  The vehicles from Shelby American seem to have about ten SHELBY logos per square foot.

But IMO, it would be nice to see one Shelby logo on the GT500.

My money is on Greg Miller buying 5R002.  It could then be reunited at the Shelby American Collection with CSX2431 and GT40 P/1015.  I believe these are the 3 most significant Shelby cars tied to Ken Miles.

Can anyone confirm that Greg Miller was the buyer of the Bullitt Mustang?

Thanks,
Eric

Very interesting that in the nearly two months since the auction, the buyer's name still remains a secret.

In these days of the internet knowing everything about everyone, I'm surprised that the name hasn't been revealed.

That is very interesting.  Why call it a Shelby at all?

Although, after the popularity of the movie, Ford may be rethinking their decision.

Schwinn meets Mustang

That little bike makes the girl look nine feet tall.
