Looks like a perfectly appropriate car guy's office to me.

Plus, if you pick up the engine block a few times a day, you won't need to go to the gym.

That's what happens when the Department decides to save on gas money and buys the cop package with the smallest engine.

Sounds like that Guardian review was written by a woman.  Or an ignorant male who never rode in a fast car in his life.

Yet another vintage pix of a Shelby with a trailer hitch on it.

Halftrack: Do you know what your dad towed with it?

What's up with the green and reds splotches on the wheels?

I'm not a fan of that look.

Great find, Tony!  I remember that show (but it was boring for a kid to watch.)  I would like to see the one with the Shelby.

Trivia:  The house shown in the second photo is the same one as the Anderson Family's house on "Father Knows Best", Major Nelson's house on "I Dream of Jeannie", and Mr Wilson's house on "Dennis the Menace."

It's located on the "ranch" lot of Columbia Pictures in Burbank, CA.

Richard, you are spot-on with that prognostication!

At least, let's hope that car still exists 50 years down the road.   But, I doubt that many of us will be here to find out.

It's not a movie car, but one that most anyone who watched TV in 1968-69 will remember...Mannix's Dart GTS 340 convertible, with subtle "kustom" work by Barris.

I loved it then, and it's in my garage now. Tracked it down ten years ago and bought it.

Then I got in touch with Mannix star Mike Connors and reunited him with the car for a magazine article and TV segment I did.

That day, the inner kid in me had a lifelong dream come true.  Pretty cool feeling.

Nice one Van!

It looks like a car Dodge could have made. Barris didn't go overboard on that one.
Neat story that you hunted and found it.
The signed photo of the reunion is a fantastic memento from that day!

Thanks, Rich and JD!  Here's a YouTube link to the TV segment I did:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DBOAJSF1ypA

Was the engine builder a shop that you or a car buddy has used before?
