I was thinking about bringing in the new year with a late night dust off and tire tread reduction, around the neighborhood. Drive em and enjoy em as they were intended. Happy New Year Everyone!!!!! ;D

I love that!  From now on, when someone asks me what business I was in, before I retired, I'm going to say "I was a professional tire tread reducer."   Now, it's just a hobby.

Ford's warning to all GT owners:  This car is not approved to exit driveways from Cars & Coffee events with the throttle pinned!

^^^ Good god, that half Econoline, half Little Red Wagon, half something from Mars with a Chevy tailgate and tail-lights, is atrocious.

Was it "bring your 10-year-old to work and let them design a car" day?

If this was the "keeper", I'd hate to see what hit the trash can.

Nice guy with a great Cobra legacy.  He got the most out of his given laps on this planet.

Rest in Speed.

As for the electric fuel pump:  Unless you also have a mechanical pump on the engine, you'll need to run it 100% of the time. No other way for the go-go juice to get to the carb.

Thanks, I'll give Jeff a try.

Hey Don, sorry if I wasn't clear enough. I'm referring to a 2006 Ford GT. (aka GT40.)

Hey guys/gals,

Is there anything on 1FAFP90S76Y400410?   Tungsten with stripes, all 4 options.

A photo of the registry listing would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Van

Thanks, I was looking at it on my phone and couldn't read much of the article.

Thank you

Yes on tilt. That almost looks like a Koons decal on the decklid.

Where was this magazine published?

It's Super Stock and Drag Illustrated. It was part of Petersen Publishing but the cars and articles came from all over. So the 428CJ Cougar was tested in Michigan, but the Shelby could be from anywhere. Judging by the smog system it likely was from LA or Arizona. My guess would be LA.

Not a Petersen publication. SSDI was headquartered back east somewhere.  I knew Jim McCraw (the article's author.) He later worked for Motor Trend before being hired by Ford's west coast PR office in the early '80s.  He passed away quite a while ago.

Any idea at what drag strip the runs were made?

I agree, but I'm hanging in there. Waiting to join the palace coup.

Ford's experiment in failure from the word go.  Worse debacle than the Edsel.  At least the Edsel was a decent car.

"Hey look, Wilma, we can buy a 1960 Peugeot for only $288. Whatever the hell a poo-joe is."

"I agree, Horace. We could have a dozen of those for less than one of them ridiculous Shelby thangs."

Funhy stuff.

I thought Rick's/Adolph's last line was going to be "Why can't I even have one convention like that?"
