Well, we are a dying breed.  Just waiting for our one-way trip onto the ice floe.

A couple of years ago, when the top-dollar sales in "midyear" Corvettes started changing from perfect concours-level cars to resto-mods, the transformation had begun. I still wouldn't pay concours prices for a modded/rodded Corvette, but more than a few people are. Same with many other marques. Singer-modified 1960s Porsches are waaayyy more $$$ than the nicest restored one. 

Younger guys want the look/romance/fantasy of a vintage car, but not the reality. Damn few of them know how to check the oil, let alone change spark plugs, so the engine only has to look shiny...who cares if it's a 427 or an Ecoboost four?  Or if the chassis and interior have been replaced with nothing even resembling stock components?  It irks me, but it's reality.

Just hoping that some bazillionaire doesn't take a real Cobra 427 and donk it out...or whatever the term is these days for an urban clown car.   That would be worth staging a revolt.

No tach bulge.  But, yes, pretty good for something like this.

Must be a lot of radiation coming out of that thing.  Look at her arms!

It would be nice to hear from Kopec every once on a while...at least on April 1st.  Is he even still involved?

In reality modding ICE Mustangs is a very small part of the company. Their current big seller is Shelby Trucks for the GT350/500 owners who want to trailer to the track/show and Hertz Mach Es.

Brett:  Any idea how many GT-E's they've built/sold?  Can't imagine it'd be more than a handful, to anyone but Hertz.

Previously discussed on another thread.  The consensus is "who knows?"  Strong masculine facial characteristics, for sure.

^^^ Lucky Michigan high school kids that got to work on those one-of-a-kind vehicles.  Pretty cool.  Better than going to the crusher.

The only date I saw on anything in that film was a chalk scribe on a machine noting 3P (third shift?) and the date 4-2-61.   

Great film.  Did you notice in the scenes about making steel, where men without much protective garb are hurling, by hand, bags of limestone into the 3000-degree (I think that's what it was) cauldrons.  How'd those guys' lungs look after years at that post?

The dirth of protection for workers, or stanchions to prevent wandering into dangerous areas, and the general filthy atmosphere of the process up until the footage of the glass plant really shows the differences of that era.
