CSX 2000 Series / Re: American Racing Wheels for Cobras

The hidden lug nut style wheel backside would look like the third photo down, the bolts threaded into the wheel itself.

FL SAAC TONY,
What is your connection with the car in the photo? This Shelby was at SAAC 9. This photo was taken around 1981-82, the Torino that you can see in the left of the photo is a 1971 Torino Cobra it was powered by a 351. The street is Redmond Ave in San Jose, Ca. The intake on the Shelby is a "tunnel wedge" with two Holley 660 center squirters. The engine in the Shelby is a 427 with a 428 crank (454 ci) with a C6. The Shelby HAD steel flares all around with Centerline wheels front and rear. There was also a matching 1968 GT500 with steel flares, although the flares were slightly different on the '68 500, it was last know to be in San Marcos, Ca.

Appeals / Re: For those still using dual point ignitions

Thanks guys!
I was trying to get an idea of what you guys are using so that I could avoid going down the wrong path. I used up my last set of period points and need to do a tune-up.

I am looking to replace a set of points for an original dual point ignition system, what manufacturer are people using these days for replacement points?

I thought it my be helpful to our forum members if there was a technical section or a "how to" for those looking for assistance on what parts to use or how to repair issues with our vehicles?

To reply #28,

Those are the rear brake cooling scoops. That Cobra had a body that was specially developed for a SAI team competition 427 Cobra. The  SAI team Cobra was stripped of its body and sold to the owner of this chassis as it had been in an accident and needed new body panels, the chassis that the body was removed from was sold to a buyer in Japan.

Reply on 307,

The chassis was from their Willys. The same thing happened with the "Ohio George" 33 Willys, Ford said if you are going to have Ford sponsorship you need to be running a Ford body, George was running a "Cammer" by that time.

I believe that the comp 427 Cobra is the Scuderia Filipinetti team Cobra CSX3013.
