My pleasure. Trying to get the car back together correctly and I thank everybody for their help. I purchased a step-drill to open the holes to 1.5" on the inboard lights. Though the holes in the fiberglass for the outside/driving lights are 2" I will not touch them (Make them smaller to fit a 1.5" grommet as Bob Gaines said you can't see them)
Again thank you for your help.

As requested, here a few picture of the 2 piece nose for car #504. I removed the nose off the car 20 years ago. Note the hole on the backside of the outside lights, is a 2" hole in the fiberglass.

Thank you for the feedback. Now that makes more sense on why the plugs were modified by the PO of the car. What size is the enlarged hole? I also attached a picture of the back side of the inboard light bracket. Again thank you for the help/info.

1967 Shelby GT 500 Moss Green #504 has the 2 piece nose and slanted Grill. SA completion date January 30th.
Question though, the upright bracket looks like it was two piece, and welded, is this correct. Based on comparisons it seems it is not correct.

At first glance I would say Mustang with Shelby Fiberglas. Don't see a roll bar.

Funny this subject just came up. I have been looking for a dipstick ( I can't seem to find my original tube and dipstick...ugh but after 20 years of having the car apart and moving twice what can I expect) so I would be interested in a dipstick if they are still for sale.
Thank you.

Old picture of the first Shelby I rode in. This picture was taken around 1977ish. The car belonged to a friends brother who worked at the Ford plant with his dad . I'm still friends with the family to this day (He helped put my engine in my GT 500 recently) Car was eventually painted a brilliant white with no side stripes. The brother sold the car in the 80's. Never saw it again. Always wondered what happen to that car.

I bought a set of heads from Survival Motorsports and yes the communication was lacking. I think Barry was overwhelmed when a article about FE's and performance parts for those engines was published a couple of years ago (That is what prompted me to buy his heads) and his heads were rated at the top. It took two years to get them but at the time I wasn't in a hurry because of family stuff going on and other projects. I called once a month for awhile with no word and then a he would call back and give me status.
When I finally received the heads, my engine builder was impressed with the work and he has been building engines for some time for a few of the stock car and trans am racers here on the west coast so I was pleased to hear that.

Once I figure which carbs I'm going with I hope to have heck of a motor.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / BJ/BK Carburators
July 31, 2019, 01:52:46 AM
Hello All,
I have a question about the stock carbs that were used on 67 GT 500 Shelby Mustangs, what are the advantages running stock VS other carbs. The reason I asked is when I bought my car it came with Holley 1850-2's that need to be rebuilt and knowing the cost for the re-issue ones being sold by Tony Branda and original ones VS the carbs I have, what are advantages between the three. My car is close to stock except the paint (Very vintage early 70's metallic scallops on the hood) and the engine, a 427 side-oiler with survival motorsports heads so kinda of a "Day 2" vibe so the carburetors are not high on my list at this time  but would like to know if stock linkages and all the other items that get attached to the carbs can stay stock.
The engine has just been built and the carbs are the last thing I need to get ready for the run stand.

Thank you

Terry
