One avenue someone can check is The Cobra Experience in Martinez California. This is owned by Drew Serb. The in museum retail store carried a lot of Finishline Cobra accessories as that's been (at least to me) the only "brick and mortar" store that I know/knew of as opposed to online. 925 558-5585
Just a suggestion.

NorCal SAAC is predominately an open track club as an example. So depending on where you are here in the country I'm sure you can contact the closest SAAC region and find additional info. As others have mentioned, Hooked on Driving (hod) is an excellent venue for new drivers as is NorCal SAAC.

The only two different "short" wind screens that I know is the full width version on the Flip Top and the individual versions found on the FIA and USRRC cars. (see pics)

I can't quite see the carbs in clear detail but aren't those a set of 58ida's?

Doug, No. At the time I photographed CSX2196 (Flip top) the 58IDA's were not on the car. It had a 4 barrel Holley. USRRC car CSX2514 owned by Gordon Gimbal at the time were here at NorCal's Mini Nats which was held up at ThunderHill. I don't want to hijack this thread and bombard it with photos of both. I should just create a new post under 2000 series cobras.
I thought I did this piece before, but now that I think about it, I believe it was lost in SAAC Forum 1.0 crash.

Happy Holidays,

Another example is a 66 Group I/II TA radiator aka R Model radiator. Stamped W MO 66-2 but nothing else. Though not your standard Mustang/GT350 piece.

Earl,
I remember when you took that picture of the Flip Top at Thunderhill! Remember taking Scott for a track ride in the car and the smile on his face!

Terry,
Your memory is really sharp. That was a decade and them some ago. It's been a while. Hope you're enjoying retired life. Regards to Mrs K.

Hello All,

I don't know if you guys have seen this, up for auction is CSX2427 Factory built Stage III Dragon Snake. Not mine (I wish). It just came across my news feed. Lemme see if this link works. If not I'll redo it.

I thought it was interesting.

1965 GT350/R-Model / Re: 65 roll bar

Just picked up a roll bar and threw it in the car to see how it fits. Looks like the seat brackets need to be removed. Anyone have pictures to share of the welds to the floor.

Jimmy,

The roll bar base shares the approximate location as the front mount of the over ride traction bar. So depending on what you're building you need to take that into consideration and adjust accordingly. Another is the angle and location of the back bar braces. They need to clear the large side interior panels. (Unlike the idiot that installed mine)
There is a "correct" location for the main hoop bar, and the location as to where you notch the interior panel to come through.
At this time you can now fit the back brace bar and insure you can remove and install that big panel.
A good friend and member of NorCal SAAC fixed mine. PM me and I'll give you his info. He's up in Mountain View.
You can't just throw it in there.
I have pictures somewhere. I'll try and dig them up.

Cheers,

Take it off and test it and see if it's actually cracked! Try either brake Kleen or solvent and see if it bleeds through. If it is, fix it!

Earl, post on the BOSS website. I believe someone posted they had one of each for sell a few months ago but I don't know if they already sold or not.

       Roy

Thanks Roy. I find it difficult to post images on the Boss302 forum. Something about having to use a 3rd party site to post images then drag the link to the post I'd be typing. I think??? I don't care to use those sites as images get hijacked (borrowed) etc... PIA.

Hello guys,

I'm looking for either an MSD #8483 289-302 Tach Drive Distributor or Ford Motorsport's version M-12127-304A Tach driven distributor (it's actually built by MSD, I believe). Needs to be whole/complete (no missing parts) and working. From early to mid 1980's time frame.
It's for the 8.2" deck height block or the standard 289/302/Boss302 etc.
if you've got one kicking around, I'd love to take it off you hands. It's for a special winter project of mine.
It looks like this (see pic).

Thanks in advance.
Cheers

Never for a 1965 GT350. The 65 side stripes were painted on. The "GT350" lettering was the only portion that was vinyl and only in blue.

Martin,
How can you tell if someone/guests have been looking into our profiles? I don't pay attention to that kind of stuff. Just curious.

Thanks Dan, Randy, and Earl for the help!

Earl, sorry for the confusion with the port sizes. The 2.20" x 1.24" measurement is the intake port size for the heads, 1.97" x 1.12" is the port size in the Cobra intake manifold , slightly larger than stock. Thanks also for the photos. Do you cut the FelPro 1250 water jacket opening square to match the port on the heads or just leave it as is?

Hello Dave, Yes, I do trim off the little piece at the front water port. It sits practically in the middle of the coolant flow.
As for the choice of FelPro vs anything else, To each their own.
I know my head surfaces have been milled, (my chambers are at 47cc's, see pic) so therefore the manifold NEEDS to be machined accordingly. If not, it's not going to matter whose gasket set you use. It's going to leak.
Too many people overlook this detail or don't bother to check, then suffer the consequences.
Mine don't leak.

Cheers
