? So, is this a Ford Shelby GT500 Hertz or from Shelby American Las Vegas? If from Shelby American who supplies the donor car...Ford or Hertz?

Also, believe it was listed for $145,000. That was a little over a year ago.

Cool Classics in Las Vegas did have the car. The had at one time a Reno warehouse and think they transferred their cars to Vegas.

Also, CA Black plates 1963-1969, first Blue 1969-1980, second Blue 1980 to 1986 I think also think that may have been personal plates were available.

Just a thought to maybe narrowing the CSX#. If the side vents were added going backwards from the first CSX with them, then narrow those delivered with chrome wires may narrow it some. Met the owner of the first side vents. He lived at Tahoe at the time and I think he also had a '66 GT350 Paxton car. Just a far out thought!

sd427....As I remember.....and that's a stretch.....both of my Cobras had the holes to mount the plate already in place below the plate light. My second Cobra CSX2192 had front and rear flares but quite different. I had chrome wires on my first. While the knockoffs look right the spokes look a little different.

Also, why mount the plate on the bumper when it's place is on the trunk under the plate light?🤔

Two observations. One,the side vents are about 2-3 inches or more low. Second, the powered by Ford emblem is also mounted way off. The wheel well opening's looks overly "flared". I referenced my observations on pictures taken in 1966 & 1967 of Cobra's I owned.

Instead of sandpaper, perhaps 000 or 0000 steel wool?

Late 1967. At the stop light on Market St. & Castro in SF. In CSX2192. New Corvette pulls up along side, light changes and we take off. Watching across the street was one of SF finest! Pull the Vett real bad and look in the mirror and he is coming with red lights. Figure he can only get one of us so I turn on Noe street and wait. He turned also. That became an exposition of speed tick....5 points. Had to ask why he didn't go straight and get th Vett? His response was that I had pulled the Vett so bad that I deserved the reward, aka ticket! I protested the ticket as my license was on probation. I beat the ticket only because the officer didn't show up for the court date!

Also, the '60s gave us CSX cars and real Shelby GT's!

Ah! Great memories from the "gray" group! Best of times and memories!

In SanFracisco 1965+ era there was the Great Highway and El Camino Real in Daly City. Remember a dragster once on the Great Highway as he was "challenged " by a guy who said he could beat anyone! Bad idea!

This brings back a great memory! In 1967 was going from SanFrancisco to Lake Tahoe.Barely made it to Sacramento to fill up....about 110 miles, then stopped again before heading over the mountain. Was no 22 gallon option in those days! Perhaps if I didn't like the sound of the 2 fours opening up could have made it with one stop. A year latter took 4 stops with the Cobra, again loved the sound of the webers opening up!

Just saw a Facebook post that Kirkham has offered his Poland facility to help and house fleeing refuges! Class act!
