Concours Talk / Re: How to find an old judging sheet
September 19, 2021, 03:08:43 PM
I looked thru the files for 2003-2007 and did not find any judging sheets for this car, could the time frame be different?
Bob is also correct the judging sheets during this period were only 5 pages and now there are a many as 20 pages so being a help to up date the car to todays standards they will not be of much help.
If you have more information for me to zero in on the time frame or convention number I'll be glad to look again.

I have several boxes with the past records for previous Concours conventions, they are not well organized so I don't know if I have what you are looking for. Give me a couple of days to dig into them and if I have the judging sheets we can make arrangements for you to get a copy.

SAAC-46 / Up date on trophies
September 15, 2021, 12:32:55 PM
I contacted the trophy company this morning for an update: their response was the order should be shipping next week of sooner.
I want to give you an idea what the process is and why it seems takes so long.
First question was who was going to handle the trophies SAAC or the Concours chairman, then the type of trophy needed to be picked out which lead to developing art work for that format, then it gets sent to the  trophy company for their art department to finalize the art work then it gets sent back to me for review and approval. After SAAC approval the order is sent to production, at this point it takes about 2-3 weeks before delivery. Once I receive  the trophies they get repackaged and send to each of the winners.
I want to thank everyone for their patience and it's an honor work with everyone

Judging schedule:
Friday set up with Judging starting around 10am
Saturday
8:30 owner meeting and introduce judges
9:00 am start judging
4:00 -4:30  stop judging
If anyone else is available to be judged on Friday please contact me.
We could use some additional help with the 65/66 survivor class and with competition cars, we have a GT 40 and Ford MK II in that class.

Looking for a good copy of the first press release of the 1968 Shelby, there were 2 press releases.
It was produced for the  Long Lead Technical Conference.
Like the second press release there were several photos and specification sheets included

A copy from an original press kit works for my needs.

SAAC-46 / Judging and parking areas
July 22, 2021, 12:41:43 PM
We will start judging a couple of cars on Friday, we also plan on having a short meeting on Saturday with Judges and owners. This meeting will  probably be in area 8 under a tent we hope.

Instructions form the track:
If you need to unload before 6p or so on Thurs, please unload  in Lot 3.  If you arrive after 6p, you should be able to unload in a fire lane behind Area 8 and then park your tow rig and enclosed trailer in your paddock space in Area 5 or on the other side of Area 8.  We do ask that flat trailers be parked up in Lot 2 .

SAAC-46 / Location for Concours parking
July 12, 2021, 11:21:45 AM
Concours Judging will be in area #8, the last convention held at this track the cars were lined up next to the fence that ran along the fire lane. That fire lane is the road that is vertically from the grand  stands to the top of the drawing.
With that said track officials have the final say, so look for us in AREA 8.
If you have any questions contact Mike Shally at concours@saac.com
I've attached the map provided by the track.

Be careful the metal is thin and bend easily; I added an additional support to the back side to help it maintain it's original shape.

I'm an original owner of a early 1968 Shelby GT350 and wonder if SAAC knows how many Original Owners there are.
There were 3 who told their stories at one of the conventions. May be Pete Disher would like to start a list?
