Concours Talk / Re: Color Change on Judged concours
March 19, 2019, 07:57:31 PM
I totally agree with the proposed changes, any change of color in in both divisions of concours requires a stiff penalty.

1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / Steering box black out
December 29, 2018, 01:16:08 PM
This question is how applicable is the note about black out the top of the steering box for an 1968 Shelby built Nov 21 1967?
There is a note that shows up on Page 66 of the Mustang chassis assembly manual and reads " at assembly paint black all portions of steering as viewed open hood" also noted this is the latest engineering change.
Is there any one who has documented this black out?

Car #006 was built on Nov 14, 1967 and had the cast iron intake with Autolite 4300 carb.
This car has a complete and unbroken document history and belongs to the original owner Mike Shally

What is the condition of the letters?

I'm the original owner of a very early GT 350 with a build date of Nov 21 1967 and have a smaller 7/8" sway bar.
This car is a strike car and early the start of Shelby production, production being behind because of the strike  the sway bar was installed then there was no attempt to change... it just to keep production moving or the error was never caught???
Is there anyone else that has a similar sway bar on their car?

I several sets of wheels and there are 2 styles of paint codes used on the rear of the rims, a single white paint dob near the outer edge of the rim and the thin band of paint on the outer rear rim. I use the term white but the color is an odd mix between pure white and off white.
