These are the two best matches for a car I'm looking for for a friend. I would sure like to get in touch with the owners of these two cars to see if one is the car he owned. I believe he still has some of the original parts from the car, maybe the current owner and my friends dad could talk and compare memories on car. thanks for the help so far my friends Cheers Jeremy

1968 Shelby GT350/500/500KR / Re: In search of 1968 gt350

Are those wheelie bars or 2 foot long exhaust extensions? :-\
That last picture it looks crunched in the rear end. The rear valance is folded up under the rear exposing more of the exhaust. Backup lights are facing downward.  Looks like the trunk weatherstrip is hanging down on both sides or possible bungee cords. Maybe a Datsun 240 or 260z ran under the back of it in 76
yes car was wrecked and that is when it was sold....

I have a friend of mine that is looking to find the location and current own of her fathers 1968 GT350. Its probably going to be hard to find but I figured I would try here and see what we might come up with.
The original color was sunlight gold, it was purchased used in Pennsylvania,  possibly Willow Grove.
It was wrecked in the rear in early 1976 in Moline, Illinois. Sold to private individual. Last seen in Bettendorf, Iowa in the early 80's at a small car dealership. Last known color was dark green. It had welded on traction bars.
I know it not much to go on but let's see what we can do.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / steel wheels
« on: March 23, 2021, 04:18:40 PM »
I was wondering did any of the earlier hub cap cars that use the hard to find steel 15x6 wheels come with silver wheels like in 65 and 66. I acquired a 11/66 15x6 steel wheel and it is painted silver and before I paint it black was wondering if these earlier ones might have been silver?
I'm guess someone just painted it but want to make sure because I never had one of these early rims before, thanks Jeremy

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / power steering clamp question
« on: March 03, 2021, 09:17:16 AM »
There are two types of clamps used to secure power steering lines when the power steering cooler was added, the pinch style and the screw clamp style. Every car I have done has used the pinch style on the cooler location and the screw clamp at the pump and the junction down by the lower control arm.
My question is 1376 which I am restoring now and putting together had pinch clamps in all location and I was wondering if this has been seen before and if maybe it is correct for early to mid production cars? The car was fairly original and hadn't been changed to much when i started restore, it didnt look like the power steering had been changed.... any thoughts

Can't make out the date - it's at the end of the bottom line stamping on that version.

jeff i looked at date and it appears to be may 67 date so just a little late for 1376...so my guess its looking like this would be better for an early 68 car and needs all the other changes mentioned in post replies. thanks for info

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: Correct clutch fork 1967 small block
« on: January 05, 2021, 03:10:40 PM »
here is a picture of 1453
please ignore the mistakes and wrong items on bottom it was the first 67 i did and was a long time ago. it has been redone and made correct from this pictures but this one came and had the snake fange clutch fork in it also. I'm  not saying it wasnt changed just using as reference. i would think the longer 12 inch fork would make rod not be in alignment and at a wierd angle.

Okay, I have read an old post about this but I'm still confused on this part. Getting ready to assembly drive train assembly and put back in 1376 and these are my choices of different clutch forks. I was told by old post and by a ford parts guy that the 1967 was a unique one year part and was 12 inches long and was used on 289 and 390 with small bearing.
I'm not sure if that info is correct but I sure could use someone that knows which one is correct. It seems to me that the 12inch one might be to long for a mustang. Please if you know I could use some help so i dont put wrong one in.
I'm pretty sure all three will work and I'm sure I have never used the 12 inch one before this is why I'm confused....thanks
