Wanted to Buy / Re: OE Full Floor Pan 65-68 wanted
October 11, 2021, 08:48:55 AM
I'm having a hard time considering foreign steel replacement floor.  If a car is judged what would be worse: wrong sheet metal date or replacement floor?  If I'm lucky enough to find the correct 67 donor car what was the cutoff date when the change happened?  Is 65 - 67 (before the change) all the same stamping?  We're starting the project this winter and if a OE floor is not found what is the best alternative?

Wanted to Buy / OE Floor Pan 67-68 wanted
October 10, 2021, 05:03:57 PM
I'm looking for a parts car with good original floors.  A 67-68 Coupe body shell or full floor pan already removed will work if correct for 67.

Willing to arrange shipping etc

PM if you have what I'm looking for

Okay thanks

Bob

You referenced Stainless Steel paint for the hat.  I assume this is the paint color?  For the hub how should the final finish look?

Thanks

Really appreciate all of the advice.  I have a few sets of original 67 assemblies, aren't they the same as 66?  If so I'll check condition and possibly use

Thanks Bob and you provided perfect direction with your response

My originals are worn down on the backside of both.  I'll most likely purchase the hats from NPD and make the hub swap.  I've never done this before so are there any tricks or potential problem to be aware of?  How should I finish the hats for proper appearence DIVII?

Randy,

I like the observation and advice.  Once the clear path forward is determined I'll schedule the task for a Friday 11:00pm  :)

Thanks Bob - The more I look at examples the more inconsistencies I find.  I've refrained from the adding markings I listed because of this.  I was able to replicate all original markings that I uncovered during disassembly.  Just making sure I use authentic examples and expert advice.

Jeff,

This is very helpful.  Car is being restored to SAAC DIV II with Gold as the goal.  Car has all original drivetrain and original suspension/steering components restored by Jim @Shelby Parts.

PM sent

Thanks

1966 Shelby GT350/GT350H / 1966 Paint marking help
September 05, 2021, 07:54:35 PM
I'm looking for a clear direction on paint markings.   I understand there are model year changes etc that effected some of the marks.  My car 6S1816 was built at Ford late March 1966 and left Shelby American 4/26/66.  I have my front and rear springs done with the proper identification marks.  All of the body assembly marks were photographed and duplicated back onto the car.

I need pictures or direction on the following:

Rear housing and center section
Steering linkage
Steering box
pitman arm
Idler arm
Tie rods
Upper / lower control arms
Spindles

Not sure if I'm missing anything but will take any additional info I can get

Thanks

Shawn
