Its very interesting, I think what may take a little wind out of the sail is that its not the only Bullitt  car.  The new owner is going to have one of two,..A little different that one of one, the only one. Still the most iconic Mustang in history in my opinion.  When the smoke clears I wouldn't be shocked if its around 2 mil.

Concours Talk / fold down panels, correct color?
October 01, 2019, 02:47:04 PM
Can't recall off the top of my head but did "All" of the panels get interior body color, or did the floor section of the fold down at the rear get black along with the middle section? They get carpet and chrome trim, but I think the side that faces down is black?   thanks, Chris

1968 mustang seat with headrest have two round legs that go into the seat top. Headrests are molded vinyl like dash pad material.  Not very common.

1967 Shelby GT350/500 / Re: le mans stripe color
April 02, 2019, 04:42:13 AM
I couldn't see a "Ford dealership" painting stripes with a GM color?  Logic would be to use in house colors.  WW once on the car is not as noticeable difference because of the distance from the centre of the car to the rocker area.

Concours Talk / Re: Color Change on Judged concours

Jmo, but if you start or better yet don't close that door then logically you open up can of worms that if the paint can be changed with a correct year color then it shouldn't matter if parts be changed, (for example A/C hood vs non A/C hood on a 67 Shelby with out deduction). again, jmo it all starts to unravel. Concours should be in the line and efforts of being as correct as possible to the way the car left the dealership.

I see this discussion is about "Color Change",  I would assume this is about changing the color completely, understandable and agree its too far off line for concours judging.  But as a side note I think when it comes to the Ford factory colors from 65-69/70 its straight forward,....  I would argue some of the Cobras I've seen with "Original Paint" can have variances, (lighter/darker tones and shades). I would also say the same thing about the areas or parts on a 65-69/70 Shelby that were not painted at ford, variances in shades and tones).  I would thing judges would be allowing or even have some level of expectation of these areas.

I wouldn't consider the driver on the bottom lucky at all,...looking at where the cobra's front tire is, I think he made contact.  The car on the bottom's roll bar looks like it could have acted like a rail for the cobra's front suspension. my have saved his life,....I hope.
