The Lounge / How the Shelby program ended
June 01, 2018, 07:16:17 PM
One of the other threads asked how the Shelby program ended? Much has been written and incorrectly repeated in my humble opinion. I'm sure some competition from other Ford models was a factor. To say Shelby was not involved is inaccurate. Shelby was planning new models and new options right up until the end. This memo should help. It is by no means the only proof, because there are a lot of memos leading up to this decision by AO Smith. Without Smith's assistance, the program was scrapped.

I honestly don't know where these belong. I think it was a 1968 Shelby application and the parts are new. Perfection Hy Test clutch plate and pressure plate. Looks like it was bolt on, but never used. Diagraph style clutch. The clutch disc measures 11 7/8" diameter. The box says "CA350?" on the side. Is it worth $40 plus shipping to you?

I have a NOS chrome trailer hitch for a 65-68 Mustang, unfortunately, the box did not survive, but all parts are intact and in great shape. Original FORD accessory with direction sheet! . . . just $150 if its not sold this weekend it will go to auction. Coralsnake68@hotmail.com

Up For Auction / 1968 KR for auction
April 24, 2018, 10:52:13 AM
on the eBay

https://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-GT500KR/323218359204?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649

I have not seen the engine, but based on what is in these photos, I am guessing it's missing a good number of KR unique parts

Very rare FORD stamped, 1968; one year only, full sized, left hand, new old stock, quarter panel, later style reflector, correct for GT 500KRs and many other cars. Did I mention this was rare? I have seen two ..this is one of those two. $4,000

Lets start with the basic appearance....

The wheel should have four slots around the rim (white arrow)

The wheel should have four nubs in the center face (yellow arrow)

If you have anything else it is not a 1968 Shelby model year steel wheel

Center hole on rim face should be round

The Lounge / Will this forum evolve or devolve?
February 07, 2018, 05:22:14 PM
I find it very interesting that we are going to allow everyone to start over.

Personally, I dont care for it. If you want more posts where people are making snarky comments and being able to sell parts without being checked or challenged, I think we have arrived.

So far, I dont like the direction. I understand moderators and administrators have other concerns, but many of the comments made so far should not remain up on the forum.

If you are not going to respect what was built, then maybe we need start over and this will turn into vintage-mustang forum 2.

Just my observation

I thought the old forum had some order after nine years. There is none here and I am sure I am going to wait nine years for it to happen.

GT/CS - California Special / Exciting announcement

http://www.hotrod.com/articles/historic-green-hornet-1968-ford-mustang-shelby-exp-500-headed-historically-correct-restoration-mcacn-2018-debut/

I have always had some questions about the Green Hornet. I have been involved with this project for sometime now and I feel very good about it.

The Green Hornet / 1968 Shelby coupe prototype is coming .....better than ever!

We are not reinventing whats been done, just adding to the great work already accomplished.
