If they are the size of pins holes that is thinner pop if it is larger, like a small crater the could also be contamination from oils on the surface prior to paint, poor prep. I have fixed those before. Very tedious!!

« on: April 21, 2022, 05:42:57 PM »
Ok, all of you early small block gurus. My machine shop is closing their doors. He is a great guy and offered me a set of 70 BOSS 302 heads and a 65 5 bolt 289, all standard and in good condition. My buddy needs the block for his 63 jeep.
What are these 5 bolts going for? TIA
cheers

Parts For Sale / 427 side oiler
« on: August 30, 2021, 11:10:33 PM »
I have a 427 sideoiler fresh from the machine shop.  STANDARD BORE!! Engine has a interesting history. New forged 10.5:1 pistons and new H beam rods. Included are the C7AE nascar rods and C5AE dome pistons. NHRA alloy heads, new and fresh. Also comes with two sets of cast iron heads. Comes with a chrome cobra oil pan and T front sump pan, bell housing, 2 flywheels, new edelbrock intake, dual point H/M prepped distributor. New pent roofs. All new parts ready to assemble. All bagged ready for your inspection. Rare to find a standard bore side oiler! This engine has two different Shelby connections, but that is another story for another time. Has no effect on sale price IMHO.
I have several photos and i am happy to take more for serious considerations.
25K OBRO    I can pallet and  ship with engine shipping.com if you pay asking i will ship for free. PM me or email at ratdogaz@gmail.com
Cheers

Anyone have a copy of the fictitious story that came out in the mustang magazine in the mid 80's?

Wow, what great story! I guess your pops and mine are chewing the same heavenly dirt up there. I bought my dad a 67 500 #3119. He was never really a car guy but really got to love the ride and attention it brought. Before he passed, he admitted it was his favorite car. He admitted he would show many people the tail lights and loved blowin em in the weeds!
It was the catalyst that held us close right up to his last day.
Thank you for sharing, brought a big smile to my ol face!
